Missing Sock Found

When I came home, I decided to do some laundry. After the wash finished, I started hanging the items on the clothes horse and radiators. I noticed one sock was missing. I looked for it in the washing machine, inside the other clothes, on the floor, but couldn't find it. I kept repeating to myself, "Where are you, sock?"  I looked again in the washing machine and spun the drum, but still no sock. Finally, I said, Lord, you know where everything is. Please show me where the sock is or put it somewhere I can see it. I then went to lie down. After a few seconds, I got up, looked inside a tote bag I usually carry with me everywhere and there was the missing and unwashed sock. I have no idea how that sock got in that bag. Thank you, God, for revealing my "missing" sock.  I will hand-wash it tomorrow. 🙂❤️ ---- Relevant Bible verses: "The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good." Yah is Always There

"Sing to God, sing praises to His name; Extol Him who rides on the clouds, By His name Yah, And rejoice before Him. A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in His holy habitation." Scaredy Cat

So Zeus, my flatmate's cat, doesn't like kitchen foil. He gets skittish around it. Ditto my nail file, but he's getting used to it. While I was changing the bin and trying to open the black bin liner, he ran out of the kitchen.  At first I was concerned and followed him asking him if he was okay. When he saw I still had the bin liner in my hand, he hid himself under the table. That's when I realised he was scared of the bin liner. What a strange creature! He probably thinks I'm strange too. 😀

Letting Go of Unforgiveness

At the museum I was working at, a large group of European teenage students and their guides came in.  While I was patrolling one gallery, I noticed a student breaking the museum rules. When I asked her to stop, she and her friend became quite obnoxious. I reported the matter to the duty manager. I also shared my experience with  a colleague and she was very sympathetic.  After work, I walked with a colleague to the local tube station. I noticed the same group of students standing by listening to their guide. When I arrived at the platform, there was a train already there, but the doors closed before I could get on.  I didn't mind missing that train as the next train was due in a few minutes. Suddenly, I noticed the same group of European students coming down the escalators to catch the train I was waiting for.  They spread down the platform. I walked to the far end of the platform as I didn't want to travel in the same carriage with them. When the train arrived,...

60 Revolutions Around the Sun

Image
Today is my birthday. I give thanks to God for giving me 60 revolutions around the sun. To me, the sun represents Christ, who is my life; and my trajectory around the sun represents my personal walk and relationship with Christ, which is unique to every born again Christian. I look forward to many more revolutions in Christ . ❤️ ----- Relevant Bible verses: "The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those who are planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing." Makeup Ritual

Image
Makeup on, makeup off. Same old ritual. Sometimes, while I'm putting on my makeup,  the cat sits on my bed and stares at me. Maybe he's thinking "why do you bother putting all that gunk on your face?  If you wash yourself frequently like I do, you won't need to paint your face." 😀

To Love is to Do a DBS Check

To volunteer for this particular organisation, I've had to have an enhanced DBS (discosure barring service) criminal record check as I will be working with vulnerable adults and possibly kids. Having a DBS check has become the norm these days, at least in the jobs I've had. I have had enhanced DBS checks when I've worked as a carer, at schools, in church and as a volunteer at this hospital.  To work on set, casting agencies won't offer you work unless you have a basic DBS. I also need a basic DBS for my jobs in visitor experience, as I'm working with kids a lot of the time. I think it's sad that society has come to this that you have to do a criminal check to work with kids and vulnerable adults, but I believe this is society's way of loving your neighbour. I have always wanted to work for this organisation so I thank God for blessing me with this wonderful opportunity to be a blessing to others. ❤️ ---- Relevant Bible verses: "In this is love, not that...

I received my Oyster Card today. Hurrah! 🙂 With this huge benefit, I intend to visit lots of parks and places of interest around London.   Thank you, God for this wonderful benefit. ❤️

Make-up Sign

I was thinking of a Facebook friend who always seems to notice 11:11.  When I went to Facebook around 3.30 am, the first post that popped up on my feed was from the same friend; and he mentioned he was on his way home at 11.11pm.  How amazing is that! I believe the idea of 11: 11, as a wake-up sign, comes from the Christian Bible. In John 11: 11, Jesus said “Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up.”   Lazarus was already dead for four days when Jesus resurrected him. May we all wake up from our "sleep." ❤️ For anyone interested,  you can read the full story in the link below. (John 11: 1-44) https://bible.com/bible/114/jhn.11.11.NKJV

The AI as a Useful Tool

So I decided to create an image with this AI app using my photo.  I gave the AI the concept and the actual words to use.  After it created it, I decided to edit the message by replacing one word with a new word. The AI followed my instructions, but changed the font colour of the new word. When I instructed the AI to change the font colour back, it suggested an app I could use to do it myself. It even provided a link to the app. What is this? I'm not having an AI telling me what to do! I stated that I wanted the font colour of the new word to be changed back to the original colour.  The AI followed my instructions. I then thought, maybe I was a bit harsh so I said, "Thank you." The AI said, "You're welcome" with a heart emoji. I thought, woah, I don't want that kind of relationship with you, thank you very much.  I should never have encouraged it in the first place. That's how it all starts. Next thing you know you're having a heart to heart conve...

Catnap

Image
While I was watching our resident cat, Zeus, sleeping and snoring on my bed, I had the following thought. If it was true getting a good rest or a good night's sleep was good for your health, cats would never get sick and they would be physically immortal. I believe the reason why cats get sick and die is because they are ruled by the carnal mind, just like humans are.  It is that same mind that makes humans get sick, grow old and die. So it makes no difference whether you get a lot of sleep or very little.  I believe it is God who gives health and life, not our carnal beliefs about sleep. Thank you, God, for giving me Your Life. ❤️ ---- Relevant Bible verses: "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life." John 6: 63 "For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace." Romans 8: 6 "Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, acco...

Breaking the Walls that Separate Us

Image
This throwback song/video by RUN DMC and Aerosmith is a reminder that when you break the walls that seem to separate us, all that remains is Love. ❤️ ---- RelevantBible verses: "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8: 38-39 "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love." 1 John 4: 18

Freedom from Suicide

After hearing about this perron who had committed suicide, I felt sad for his loved ones. Many years ago, when I was constantly feeling depressed and suicidal, I decided to give myself a reason to keep on living. I made a pact with myself that if I can love at least one person a day, I can delay suicide for 8 billion days, which gave me temporary relief. At the end of a relationship with my boyfriend who I was hoping to marry, I was back at that dark place and I started thinking about suicide, but I couldn't go through with it as I didn't want to hurt my mum, the person I loved most in the world. After my mum passed away and I was feeling depressed, I no longer wanted to stay.  I asked a Christian friend to pray for me and it gave me temporary relief, but the suicidal urge kept coming back. When I finally gave my life to Christ by receiving Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, suicide no longer had any power over me as Christ, who is alive forevermore (Revelation 1: 18), was now my li...

Customer Service

When you work in front of house and visitor experience, you are constantly dealing with thousands of people. You are trained how to make every visitor feel welcomed; how to engage with them; and how to make their experience memorable.  However, it is humanly impossible to keep giving your best to every single visitor, as humans only have a limited supply of energy. The good news is I am no longer only human, I  am a born again Christian. As a Christian. I have the Holy Spirit living inside of me and He is constantly working in me, through me, for me and with me.  The Holy Spirit not only gives me energy to keep going in my job, He inspires me to take the right action. For instance at this museum, I was at this point where I was welcoming visitors and giving them highlights of what we had available in the museum. At one point, this man came in with his two kids. I pointed out this new exhibition about this football team.  The girl started giggling and told me his dad ...

Sorry!

Image
One word British people use a lot is "sorry."  We are constantly saying sorry to each other. You get so used to saying "sorry" it becomes part of your DNA. At the museum I was working at today, I found myself saying sorry it was so hot in the museum as if it was my fault we're having this prolonged heatwave and the lack of airconditioning.  On the bus home, this man and woman got on. Just as they were about to sit down, the bus lurched forward, and he fell back crushing my knee with his huge rucksack. I pushed him forward and told him to mind his rucksack. Immediately, the woman he was with said, "sorry" and they continued chatting as if nothing had happened. Although I was still feeling resentful about my knee, I could feel the pain in my knee and my grievance melting away.  By the time I got off the bus, 15 minutes later, my knee was perfectly fine and I was back to my joyful self. When I got home, my flatmate's cat, Zeus, was in a bad mood. His ...

Coriander or Colander

I was sharing an article  with my flatmate about alternative ways  of watching the solar eclipse, if you don't have the right glasses. "We could use a coriander to watch it," I said. "Coriander?" she said. "Very interesting." When she looked at the article, she said, "It's colander, not coriander!" I reckon I was being inspired by autocorrect. 😀 BBC News - Three ways to watch the solar eclipse safely without glasses https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4gdxyjnz3do

Jesus is the Proof of My Identity

So I applied to work as a volunteer at this organisation. As part of the application process, the organisation has to do stringent background checks and get character references. They also need me to prove my identity with the required official documents such as passport, birth certificate etc. This process reminds me of what Jesus taught His followers about the two births. The first birth is of the flesh. That birth occurs when you come out of your earthly mother's womb.  You are then given documents that prove where and when you were born. Your flesh identity is based on your nationality, gender, cultural and genetic heritage, etc.  The second birth is of the Spirit. That birth occurs when you receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour.  Your spiritual identity is Christian, son/daughter of God and citizen of the Kingdom of God. Back to the application process. Just like an actor playing a character is not his character, I know that my flesh identity is not my identity....

Your Real Friends and Family

Image
I saw this post and photo below on a Facebook page called "Now I've Seen Everything.  I think it's so true. Jesus, the Greatest Friend I have, shows compassion/mercy first and then teaches truth.  Otherwise, He wouldn't have performed the many miracles that He did.   The Holy Spirit is my other Great Friend and He is just like Jesus. ❤️ ----- Relevant Bible verses: "And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”"  John 8: 11 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you." John 14: 15-18 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things ...
