Now is the Day of Salvation

When I checked my work calendar, I saw I had nothing booked for next week.  The Holy Spirit reminded me that what appears to be empty space is filled with His presence. Therefore, I should never look for my supply in the past or in the future. Everything I need is available now in God. "Now is the day of salvation." (2 Corinthians 6: 2) There are times when God will inspire you to take the necessary practical steps. For instance, I needed a cover and screen protector for my phone. I was inspired to go to this shop to get them. It took a while for the shop owner to find the right cover for my phone. When it came to the screen protector, again, he couldn't find one. I suggested that I just buy the cover, but he insisted that he had one in stock. He soon found one that was right for my phone. God reminded me that just as the shop owner didn't want to lose my business opportunity so is the moment of now. A few hours later, I received an email from my agency about work opp...

Easter Eggs

Image
I usually buy Easter eggs to share with my flatmate, but as she can't have chocolates at the moment, I haven't bought any this year. Today, she gave me these Easter eggs. What a wonderful surprise! Thank you, God, for the Easter eggs. ❤️

Free Gift

Image
In some museums I've worked at, there are trails that kids can follow and collect a prize once they have finished. If kids are not able to complete the trail and I'm at the information desk, I give them whatever the prize is anyway whether it's a sticker, badge or stamp.   I have noticed a lot of kids don't like receiving the "prize" if they have not done or completed the trail. I believe that's because humans have been programmed to earn or be deserving of their good.  When your good is given to you for free, you don't find it of value. Is it any wonder why a lot of people reject God? Why would they want His free gift of salvation when they haven't earned it or don't feel they deserve it? When I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and became a born-again Christian, I received His free gift of salvation by grace through faith. (Ephesians 2: 8-9) This means, I didn't have to earn or deserve my salvation and all the free benefits that come ...

God's Goodness at Work

Image
While I was on the bus, I realised I had forgotten to wear my smart black jacket over my black top. I also realised I had left my black scarf at home.  How could I forget both of them!  Nevermind! I'm sure the duty manager won't mind. When I arrived at work, I asked the duty manager if I could borrow one of their scarves. He said he would get the supervisor to look for one. The supervisor told me she couldn't find a spare. I asked her if I could borrow a spare jacket.  She asked me to accompany her to her office. She opened a drawer full of new scarves and jackets and said I could borrow one of each. When I returned them at the end of my shift, she told me to keep them as I work at the museum regularly.  I was really grateful. Hours later at a bus stop on my way home, I noticed this woman eating a chocolate ice lolly. "Ooh, Walls Feast! I haven't had that in a while," I said to her. She smiled at me and continued staring at the bus timetable. I was going to as...

Easy Peelers

Image
On the way to work, I stopped off at this supermarket to buy some food for my lunch break.  I also fancied an easy peeler fruit, but they only had them in a packet. I could see they had loose bananas, but I didn't fancy any.  After I bought a croissant and some pasta to have for lunch, I asked a member of staff if they had loose easy peelers as I only wanted one. She said they didn't do them. She then picked up a packet of easy peelers and asked me to follow her. She led me to a till and asked the cashier to give me the packet of easy peelers for free. I was so grateful. On the way to work I kept thanking God. I could feel Father God smiling and saying "My pleasure." I am reminded of what Jesus told His followers: "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." Luke 12: 32 I ended up having two easy peelers and sharing the rest of my blessings with my work colleagues. Thank you, God, for your limitless unmerited f...

His Way or Our Way?

Image
According to the Bible, before we were born, God had already written our book of life experiences. (Psalm 139: 15-16), However, God has given us freewill to choose whether we want to live His way or to do things our way. (Deuteronomy 30:19) The good news is it's never too late to repent and surrender to God and experience the life He has prepared for us. Here's one example. A few days ago, a photo from 6.10.2019 popped up in my Facebook Memories taken when I was last in an area of London called the Docklands. I was actually attending an exhibition at this venue. Fast forward, six years later today (on 9.10.2025), I went for induction at the same venue where I had attended the exhibition. I didn't arrange the date, my employer "picked" the induction date. What is even more amazing is that  it occurred on the same week I had been at the venue six years ago. I believe God had written this opportunity in my book of life for when I was ready to receive it and it was He...

God’s Unmerited Favour

When I saw this event job going, I applied for it. The agency told us the client was going to decide based on our portfolios. I presumed the client was going to look at our photos. As the event was for designers and fashion buyers, I thought I had no chance. I reckon they were probably going to pick very young and attractive staff to work at that event. I couldn't believe it when I received a text from my agency asking me to let them know if I could work on one day.  I decided not to go for it as I didn't want to work long hours in such hot weather. I believe I receive opportunities not because of my qualifications  experience or looks, but because of God's unmerited favour. Thank you, God, for your constant grace. ❤️ ---- Relevant Bible verses: “This  is  the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts." Zechariah 4: 6 "And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. ...

About Entitlement

There is a lot of talk these days about entitlement.  In the worldly realm of the unsaved or unbelievers in Jesus Christ, entitlement is expecting to receive something that you haven't earned or deserved. For instance, I was chatting to this lady who lives in an area of London where there are lots of rich people. She was complaining about how entitled kids are these days. She said she used to give her son birthday presents. When he turned 40, she gave him a lump sum of money. She said last Christmas her son's wife demanded that she gives them £50,000 as a Christmas present towards work they're having done in their garden. She said she refused to give them any money. As a Christian, my world view is everyone (sinners) can receive salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. This means salvation is unearned, undeserved and unmerited. (Ephesians 2: 8-9) Once you are saved, you continue to enjoy God's unmerited favours and benefits. (Psalm 103: 1-5) Therefore, if you a...

Our Daily Bread

Image
"Give us this day our daily bread." Matthew 6: 11 ----- The last two days I've had a cold and cough.  When I first started experiencing the symptoms, I reminded myself that I am already healed (Isaiah 53: 5); and God wants me well (3 John 1: 2). The Holy Spirit also brought to my attention that I had been fearful of catching my flatmate's cold and cough which she's had for a while.  I reminded myself that God hasn't given me the Spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1: 7). After praying and meditating on the Scriptures, I expected to be well, but it was taking a while for my flesh to receive my healing.  When I woke up this morning, I was feeling weak and I didn't feel like going to church. I put on my laptop to listen to some Christian sermons.  Someone mentioned something about life.  It got me wondering, "Who exactly is feeling tired?" I thought about what Paul had said in Galatians 2: 20: "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who liv...

Unmerited Favour in Chaos

As I don't like to rush  I always give myself more than enough time to get to work. I'd rather arrive an hour early and relax. This morning, I left home even earlier. The bus I was in was packed full. Most passengers get off at the nearest tube station. I also get off at that stop and catch another bus into central London. As I was walking past the tube station, I noticed it was closed. Two members of staff were telling commuters that the line wasn't working because of signal failure and advising commuters to catch a particular bus to another tube station a few miles down the road. When I got to the bus stop, there was a long queue of passengers waiting for my bus. I decided to use another bus route. After waiting for a few minutes, I was inspired to return to bus stop with the long queue. When I arrived, there was already a bus at the stop. By the time I got on, there were no longer any seats available both decks. I had no choice but to stand. I walked all the way to the b...
