God's Goodness at Work

Image
While I was on the bus, I realised I had forgotten to wear my smart black jacket over my black top. I also realised I had left my black scarf at home.  How could I forget both of them!  Nevermind! I'm sure the duty manager won't mind. When I arrived at work, I asked the duty manager if I could borrow one of their scarves. He said he would get the supervisor to look for one. The supervisor told me she couldn't find a spare. I asked her if I could borrow a spare jacket.  She asked me to accompany her to her office. She opened a drawer full of new scarves and jackets and said I could borrow one of each. When I returned them at the end of my shift, she told me to keep them as I work at the museum regularly.  I was really grateful. Hours later at a bus stop on my way home, I noticed this woman eating a chocolate ice lolly. "Ooh, Walls Feast! I haven't had that in a while," I said to her. She smiled at me and continued staring at the bus timetable. I was going to as...

Easy Peelers

Image
On the way to work, I stopped off at this supermarket to buy some food for my lunch break.  I also fancied an easy peeler fruit, but they only had them in a packet. I could see they had loose bananas, but I didn't fancy any.  After I bought a croissant and some pasta to have for lunch, I asked a member of staff if they had loose easy peelers as I only wanted one. She said they didn't do them. She then picked up a packet of easy peelers and asked me to follow her. She led me to a till and asked the cashier to give me the packet of easy peelers for free. I was so grateful. On the way to work I kept thanking God. I could feel Father God smiling and saying "My pleasure." I am reminded of what Jesus told His followers: "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." Luke 12: 32 I ended up having two easy peelers and sharing the rest of my blessings with my work colleagues. Thank you, God, for your limitless unmerited f...

God's Timing is Perfect

"A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." Proverbs 16: 9 ----- After I finished my evening shift at this theatre, I stopped off at a store to get some grocery. I wondered if I should catch the tube home, but I decided to catch the bus instead. At the bus stop, I noticed a young man and woman. I noticed the woman was all wrapped up and shivering. I asked her if she was cold. She said she was from Kenya and not used to the cold weather. I told her she will still get used to the weather. When our bus arrived, I went upstairs. I was hoping to sit in front, but a passengr was already sitting on the right front seat. The left front seats were vacant, but I knew my Kenyan friends would enjoy those seats so I sat a few seats behind them. During the journey, the couple chatted to the passenger opposite. I heard them talking about a certain park, which I know very well.  The young man mentioned he had been showing his friend around London and even taken her to a mu...

Variety is the Spice of Life

Image
Two weeks ago, I worked at an extreme metal concert, which was very dark. Last night, I worked at a Bhangra concert which was full of joy. Today, I'm working at an art gallery. I love how varied my job is. Thank you, God. ❤️ Photo of the Bhangra concert

When Blessings Overtake You

Image
In the Old Testament, God told His people, through His prophet, Moses, that if they keep His commandments His blessings will overtake them. (Deutoronomy 28: 1-14). God also warned them of the curses they would experience if they disobeyed His commandments. (Deutoronomy 28: 15-68) As His people were not able to keep God’s commandments, they experienced the curses.  God then sent His Son, Jesus Christ, who was able to obey all of God's commandments on behalf of all who believe in Him. Therefore, those who believe in Jesus get to experience all those blessings and are redeemed from the curses. I've been thinking about what it means for "all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you..." (Deutoronomy 28: 2). Usually, while I'm travelling on the bus, other buses and cars overtake the bus I'm on. For another bus or car to overtake the bus I'm on, they have to be travelling behind the bus and caught up with the bus.   I believe when you're being ove...
