The Light Shining in Darkness

Image
At this gallery I was working at, this visitor approached me. "Could you tell me if the paintings have been cleaned?" she said. "No, they haven't, but they've fixed the lights in this gallery," I said. "I see, that's why the colours look so bright." "Yes.  I do find your perspective interesting though that you thought the paintings had been cleaned," I said. "At least you noticed something was different." The woman chuckled and was off to see the paintings in a new light. The light in the gallery reminds me of Jesus, who is the "Light of the World. When you come to Jesus just as you are and focus on Him, His Light does the work of lighting all darkness within you.  In other words, He changes you from the inside out.  You then reflect and shine His Light into the world. Because of Jesus, I no longer walk in darkness. ☀️❤️ ----- Relevant Bible verses: “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be...

Love Is

Love is my flatmate's cat, Zeus, wrapping his tail around my face. 😆 I love you too, Zeus. ❤️

Smart Thinking

Image
When I am working, I set the alarm on my phone to wake me up at the appropriate time, but I always wake up at least half an hour before the alarm goes off as I don't want it to startle me. That's what I call smart thinking. 😆

New Feeding Bowl

Image
A few months ago, after I finished eating this ready meal, I decided to save the container, as I thought it would make a great feeding bowl for the local stray cat that I call Loudmouth.  My flatmate has been using the container to feed him. Today, I had the same ready meal. After I finished and washed the container, I thought my flatmate could now throw away the old container and use this one. When I showed my flatmate the new container, she said the old one had gone missing, and possibly taken by the local fox. She was hoping I was going to get a new container. I reckon it was God who had inspired me to get that ready meal, which I haven't had in months.   It just shows God cares about all our needs including Loudmouth's. 😊❤️ Photo of Loudmouth's new feeding bowl.

Heart Shapes

Image
"God is love." 1 John 4: 8 ---- A few days ago, I decided to play a game of looking for heart shapes in the clouds.  I was travelling on the bus at the time. The first thing I noticed was I was seeing lots of heart shapes outside - graffiti hearts on walls and hearts on shop windows. When I looked up, I saw a few heart shape clouds, but I wasnt able to photograph them as the bus was moving. Since then, I've noticed lots more heart shapes around me, including people wearing outfits with heart shapes. Look what I noticed in my pasta ready meal - a heart shaped mushroom. Thank you, God, for playing with me. ❤️

God Prepares a Table

I was booked for a short shift at this event starting at 6.30am. As there was going to be a tube strike on that day, I planned to leave home around 4.30am and catch the night bus into central London and then catch the overground train, that was still running, to my final destination. The day before the event, my agent asked me if I was available to do a longer shift instead. I said I was. They then cancelled my 6.30am shift and booked me for a shift starting at 7.30am. That  meant, I was able to leave at 5.40am and walk to my local overground train station to catch the 5.55am train which took me to central London where I was able to catch the next overground train to work. I  was not only unaffected by the tube strike, I arrived about 45 minutes early for my shift. I was able to relax and catch up with old friends before our shift started. In the theatre I was working at, I was in a team of four others. We agreed to let each other know when we were going for comfort breaks or ...

About Authority

On the way out of this conference centre, where I had been working all day, I used the escalator to come down. As I didn't recognise that part of the building, I asked a security guard to direct me to the local train station. He told me to follow the crowd and walk all the way down this path and I will get to the station. As I was approaching the exit, I thought, "this doesn't look right. I'm going the wrong way." I then asked another security guard for direction and he told me to walk all the way back, in the opposite direction. On my way, I saw the previous security guard. When I told him which station I wanted, he realised he'd given me the wrong information and pointed the right way. Just because someone speaks with confidence doesn't mean they are right. The first security guard had spoken with such authority even though he was giving me the wrong information. 😊 Thank God I have the all-knowing Holy Spirit in me to always get me back on track, when I...

Proof of Jesus's Resurrection

Image
This is the most amazing, inspring and important podcast I've ever watched. Here's a backstory, as I love stories. 😊 Two months ago (16.2.2026), while I was lying in bed with my eyes closed, I had this vision. I saw this long nail being driven into a wrist. The image was very vivid. When I opened my eyes, I realised I was being shown Jesus's wrist while he was being crucified. When I shared the vision with my flatmate, she said she thought the nail went through Jesus's hand. I said the nail definitely went through his wrist. I was going to share the vision on Facebook and on my blog, but I didn't feel peace about it and knew it wasn't the right time. I thought about sharing the vision on Good Friday or even Easter but, again, it wasnt the right time. I presumed it was one of many visions I've had that I'm meant to keep to myself, though I did share this one with my flatmate. Yesterday, I was inspired to browse through Shawn Ryan's podcasts to see if...

How to Stay Awake

Before I started work at this museum, I went to the staff kitchen and made myself a mug of hot chocolate. After drinking half of it, I had enough and threw the rest away. "How do you guys keep drinking cups of coffee and tea?" I said to the security guy. "I couldn't even finish this hot chocolate." The security guy pointed at another colleague and said, "He drinks lots of cups of tea all day." "You must need to use the toilet a lot," I said.  "I'm not a fan of hot drinks, but I prefer cold drinks." "You don't drink coffee?" the security guy said. "How do you stay awake?" "I pray." That was the end of our conversation.😊 Thank you, God, for  keeping me awake.❤️

Itching Ears

I believe the Bible verse below is very pertinent to this age of podcasts and social media.  We are bombarded with so much "truth", if you don't have discernment, you're going to be lost. "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; [4] and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables." 2 Timothy 4: 3-4

Animals in Church

Image
I saw two dogs at church yesterday with their humans and they were very well-behaved. One called Bella was sitting near me and kept licking my hands. The other dog accompanied his human when she went up for communion. It got me wondering whether I should take our resident cat, Zeus, to church next time. Not a good idea as he'll probably expect everyone to worship him. 😆 Photo of Zeus looking adorable. ❤️

Perfection

Image
I find it amazing how the photo below of earth, taken from space, looks so perfect. From space, you can't see any of the negativity going on earth such as wars, famine, sickness, suffering and death. I believe when God created the earth, everything was perfect before the "fall" of mankind. God then sent His begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem mankind from their sins. Now God sees those who have accepted Jesus's salvation just like the way earth is seen from space - beautiful, good, lovely, perfect, pure and whole. ❤️ ----- Relevant Bible verse: "For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away." 1 Corinthians 13: 9-10 Photo of earth courtesy of Google Images

When a Christian is Behaving in a Non-Christian Way

ust because you were brought up by Christian parents/guardians who got you to attend church and a Christian school doesn't make you a Christian. I was baptised in a Church, brought up in a Christian family, attended a Methodist church and school, but I wasn't a Christian. To be a Christian, you must be born again. (John 3: 3) That means you have to make a choice to ask Jesus Christ to be  your personal Lord and Saviour. (Romans 10:9) That can happen at any age.  However, just because you are now a born again Christian doesn't mean your personality instantly changes.  Your spirit or inner man is changed, but it takes time for your outer man to be changed as that involves renewing (reprogramming) your mind with the Bible so you embody the Gospel of Christ in your every day life. (Romans 12: 2) That's why it can take many years for someone to be ready for the ministry God has called them for. A while back I wasn't feeling well. As my flatmate could see I was still cou...

Because God Loves Us

Image
In the Bible when Lazarus was extremely ill, his sisters, Mary and Martha, sent a message to Jesus as follows: “Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.” (John 11: 3) "When Jesus heard that, He said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.” Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So, when He heard that he was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was."John 11: 4-6) You would have thought Jesus would have taken immediate action to heal someone He loved.  Not Jesus. He decided to wait  a few more days.  When Jesus and His disciples finally arrived at the sisters' home, their brother had already been dead and buried for four days. Jesus then resurrected Lazarus from the dead. Only then did Jesus's disciples  and the two sisters understand that Jesus had been acting out of love. Before Jesus was crucified, He told His disciples that He was going to go through a lot of suffering a...

Easter Eggs

Image
I usually buy Easter eggs to share with my flatmate, but as she can't have chocolates at the moment, I haven't bought any this year. Today, she gave me these Easter eggs. What a wonderful surprise! Thank you, God, for the Easter eggs. ❤️

Jesus is the Head of the Church

Image
Many Christians are upset or disappointed because King Charles, who is supposed to be "defender of the faith," has not posted an Easter message.  Reminder to self: Jesus Christ is the head of the Christian church. "And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence." Colossians 1: 18 Jesus Christ is King of kings. "And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS." Revelation 19:16 "It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes." Psalm 118: 8-9 Thank you, Jesus,  for being the Head of the Church. ❤️ I Image created with Chatgpt representing  Revelation.19: 11-16.

Free Gift

Image
In some museums I've worked at, there are trails that kids can follow and collect a prize once they have finished. If kids are not able to complete the trail and I'm at the information desk, I give them whatever the prize is anyway whether it's a sticker, badge or stamp.   I have noticed a lot of kids don't like receiving the "prize" if they have not done or completed the trail. I believe that's because humans have been programmed to earn or be deserving of their good.  When your good is given to you for free, you don't find it of value. Is it any wonder why a lot of people reject God? Why would they want His free gift of salvation when they haven't earned it or don't feel they deserve it? When I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and became a born-again Christian, I received His free gift of salvation by grace through faith. (Ephesians 2: 8-9) This means, I didn't have to earn or deserve my salvation and all the free benefits that come ...

God's Goodness at Work

Image
While I was on the bus, I realised I had forgotten to wear my smart black jacket over my black top. I also realised I had left my black scarf at home.  How could I forget both of them!  Nevermind! I'm sure the duty manager won't mind. When I arrived at work, I asked the duty manager if I could borrow one of their scarves. He said he would get the supervisor to look for one. The supervisor told me she couldn't find a spare. I asked her if I could borrow a spare jacket.  She asked me to accompany her to her office. She opened a drawer full of new scarves and jackets and said I could borrow one of each. When I returned them at the end of my shift, she told me to keep them as I work at the museum regularly.  I was really grateful. Hours later at a bus stop on my way home, I noticed this woman eating a chocolate ice lolly. "Ooh, Walls Feast! I haven't had that in a while," I said to her. She smiled at me and continued staring at the bus timetable. I was going to as...
