Complete in Christ

Image
I believe when our loved ones, who were believers in Christ, pass away they revert to a younger version of themselves and they are perfect  and whole in every way. I'm reminded of a dream I had about three years after  mum passed away. In the dream she was looking a lot younger and all glammed up. She told me she was off to a party. I was really happy for her. Today would have been my mum's birthday. I know she's with the Lord where she is full of joy and complete in Him. ❤️ In the words of Jesus: “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die.” John 11: 25-26 This image was created with a photo of a younger version of my mum, Isa, without glasses.  Love you, Isa. ❤️

The Law of Life in Christ Jesus at Work

Image
When anyone gets saved and receives Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, it means they now have everlasting life in God through Christ. (John 3: 16) Just because you are saved doesn't mean your human experience changes automatically. That's because your conditioned mind remains the same. That mind has to be reprogrammed/renewed with the Word of God/the Bible so you can know who you are in Christ. (Romans 12: 1-2)  Otherwise you will simply be a Christian in name only and behaving just like non-believers. Last night I was booked to work at this art gallery I've never worked at before. I was glad to see an old friend and colleague working there.  After the staff briefing, our duty manager took us newbies around the gallery to show us  the exhibition and our various positions. At one position, there was this art installation where the artist had incorporated it into a  campervan. The side door of the van was open and lifted up, but I didn't see it and walked right in...

The Invisible Realm

Image
In the Star Trek Voyager episode called "Scientific Method", the crew are being secretly manipulated by these aliens that are invisible to them. The aliens are actually using the Voyager crew as guinea pigs for their scientific experiments. For instance, they are manipulating Captain Janeway by giving her constant headaches to see how much she can take. They are  manipulating Chakotay, the first officer's DNA to make him age rapidly, etc. After Seven's perception filters are adjusted, she's able to see the "invisible" aliens working on the crew.  When the aliens are finally revealed to the crew, the arrogant aliens insist on continuing their experiments on the crew.  Captain Janeway is forced to take drastic measures to get rid of their tormentors. The aliens in this Voyager episode reminds me of what the Bible teaches Christians that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the invisible spiritual powers working through people. (Ephesians 6...

What a Wonderful Surprise!

Image
While I was in town, I popped into the National Gallery to see some paintings. That gallery is really massive and full of visitors and I can only take in a few paintings at a time.  To help me recover from information overload, I went to sit on this comfy sofa near the information desk. I then noticed someone had left their reading glasses near where I was sitting. When I went to hand them in at the information desk, I recognised the woman at the desk as someone I worked with two years ago at a museum with the largest collection in the world.  What a wonderful surprise!  I've often wondered how she's doing. Now I know. Thank you, God, for answering my question. ❤️ Some photos I took before information overload.

Easy Peelers

Image
On the way to work, I stopped off at this supermarket to buy some food for my lunch break.  I also fancied an easy peeler fruit, but they only had them in a packet. I could see they had loose bananas, but I didn't fancy any.  After I bought a croissant and some pasta to have for lunch, I asked a member of staff if they had loose easy peelers as I only wanted one. She said they didn't do them. She then picked up a packet of easy peelers and asked me to follow her. She led me to a till and asked the cashier to give me the packet of easy peelers for free. I was so grateful. On the way to work I kept thanking God. I could feel Father God smiling and saying "My pleasure." I am reminded of what Jesus told His followers: "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." Luke 12: 32 I ended up having two easy peelers and sharing the rest of my blessings with my work colleagues. Thank you, God, for your limitless unmerited f...

Travel Plans

Before work, I always check the travel app the night before for train times and the quickest route. I decided I would catch the 08.08 train into town followed by the tube, which should give me enough time to stop at the local shopping centre to buy some food for lunch; walk leisurely to work; change into my uniform; gather everything I need; and have the usual banter with my work colleagues before our briefing. On the actual day, I checked the travel app again. It said the earlier train, the 07.38,  was delayed and was now due at 07.41. As I was already dressed, I decided to catch that train, instead of the 08.08 train. When I arrived at the platform, I noticed there was a revision to the train timetable showing that the 08.08 train was now cancelled and the second train was going to be 08.38. I knew if I had caught the 08.38 train, I would not have any time to get lunch and would arrive at work with only a few minutes to spare.  Thank you, God, for always adjusting my plans a...

Boys and Girls

Image
I saw this image on Facebook and it made me chuckle. It reminds me of when I was working at this "after school club" at this primary school.  The kids I was working with were aged between 3 to 5 years old. The girls were very demure and playing with their dolls and the boys were very boisterous. The boys ran me ragged as I taught them how to share the football and play as a team. 😆 That was three years  ago. I wonder how those kids are?  God bless them all. ❤️

Hello, Love!

When I woke up this morning, I was meditating on the love of God in Christ and that I live, move and have my being in His love. At the museum I was working at  today, I noticed this woman wearing a top with the word, "LOVE" in front of it. As she was walking by, she smiled at me and said hello. I said, "Hello Love." 😊 I live in and on Love. ❤️ ----- Relevant Bible verses: "for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’" Acts 17: 28 "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8: 38-39 "He who does not love does not know God, for God is love." 1 John 4: 8

Playing It By Ear

I was making a tentative arrangement with a friend via text to meet up. I then said, "We'll play it by ear. " After sending the text, I wondered if she knew what that expression meant. Then I thought she must do as she's been living in the UK now for donkey's years. (My friend is from Poland). I soon received a response from her saying she didn't have a clue what I was on about. I explained to her that the expression means, "we'll see how it goes" and she understood. I'm sure all countries have their own quaint idioms which baffle others. 😊

Nothing Can Touch God's Creation

Image
Thowback. Remember when we all had to stay indoors for months at a time during lockdown?   As you can see from these photos, it was business as usual for nature. You can't touch God's creation. ❤️ Broomfield Park, May 2020 ----- Relevant Bible verse: "I know that whatever God does, It shall be forever. Nothing can be added to it, And nothing taken from it." Ecclesiastes 3: 14

Eyebrows

Image
On the bus, I noticed this woman carrying a baby girl that looked maybe between 8 months and a year old. I told the woman the baby had perfect eyebrows. The woman said the baby has her mum's  eyebrows. (She was the baby's aunt). I said I hoped the baby's eybrows stayed that way. When I was a lot younger, I had perfect eyebrows. Aa I got older, I started plucking them so I could give them a new shape. I've even had them threaded several times.  I have seen women who shave their eyebrows and then use eyebrow pencils to draw their eyebrows. We obviously know better than our Creator, right? 😆 ----- Relevant Bible verse: 'I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works,And that my soul knows very well." Psalm 139: 14 Photos of me as a child with my unadulterated eyebrows. ❤️

Bottle Opener

After I bought a bottle of soft drink from this store, I found I couldn't open the lid as it was too tight. When I came out of the store, I noticed this burly looking guy walking towards me. I asked him to open it for me and he was very happy to. Thank you, God, for creating men with big hands to open lids and jars that I can't. 😊❤️

Humour

Image
So I noticed this woman in the gallery wearing a white jumper which had an interestinh texture.. When I told her I liked her jumper, she thanked me and said she was aware she looked like a sheep. While I was chatting to her and her friend, I was thinking of an appropriate sheep pun.  Help me out here, God! Just as they were leaving, I said to them, "Baaa-ye!" Her friend got the pun, but it took the "sheep" a few seconds to catch up. I love puns. Thank you, God, for giving us humour! 😂

Wish You Were Here?

Image
After a friend, who is currently on holidays in Perth (Down Under), sent me photos of her enjoying the sun, I texted her this photo I took while travelling on the bus. I said, "This is the lovely grey weather you're missing. Wish you were here?" 😂 As I don't like hot weather, I prefer our current dreary weather in London to the 30c in Perth. ❤️

Who Decides?

Image
So I decided to leave home at a particular time. Because the roads were clear, I arrived in central London way too early for work I decided to kill time by going for a long walk along this park. Then I decided to go into this church. The early church service had just finished. After taking some photos of the interior, I sat at the back of the church to enjoy the peace and quiet and read my Bible. I decided it was time to leave the church and continue my walk.  I decided to walk down this road and discovered this new garden. I took some photos. I decided to walk down this road which led to a road I was familiar with. I decided to stop off at two shops to buy some food and drink. I realised I was disoriented so I decided to walk in the opposite direction where I noticed this supermarket, which reminded me I was on the right track. I noticed this woman standing in front of me and grinning at me. I realised it was my work colleague. My colleague told me her bus had also arrived early a...

Happy Mother's Day

It's Mother's Day in the UK. I created this in memory of my late mum, Isa. Happy Mother's Day to all mums on earth and in heaven. ❤️

God is My Source

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." James 1: 17 "This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all." 1 John 1: 5 Ps: Image created using my photo with chatgpt

Gentleness

When I noticed this boy had been sitting on his own in the corner of the gallery for quite a while, I went over to him and asked him where his parents/adults were. He said he didn't know. After asking his age, I reported the matter to my duty manager.  My manager came down to chat to him to get more information about his mum.  She also asked security and all staff to look out for her.  When the boy's mum finally turned up, my manager came to speak to her. She told the boy's mum that we were worried about her son being left alone and she should not leave him on his own next time. I was really impressed how gentle my manager was with the boy's mum. I wouldn't have been so gentle.  It got me thinking of the nine fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Galatians 5: 22). I find it very easy to express joy, peace and even kindness, but I struggle with gentleness. Help me, Holy Spirit, to be gentle w...

The Cleaner

Before I started my shift at the galleries I had been designated to invigilate, I checked to see if everything was okay.  When I noticed this dark stain on the floor, I wondered if it was part of the floor or if something was stuck on it.  Maybe, I'll ask the cleaner to have a look later. I gave the matter no further thought and sat down to do some paperwork.  Suddenly, I noticed the cleaner walking towards me. I asked him to check what the stain was. He then used a tool he was carrying to scrape whatever it was off the floor. Considering there are so many galleries in that museum, only God could have inspired the cleaner to walk through the galleries I was looking after with exactly what was needed.  Thank you, God, for always working in, through and with me. ❤️  ----- Relevant Bible verse: "for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure." Philippians 2: 13

Autocorrect

When a new work colleague told me her name, which was Indian, I wrote the name phonetically in my phone notebook. After a few minutes I couldn't remember her name so I checked my notebook to remind me. I discovered autocorrect had changed the name to an English word that looked similar. I had to ask my colleague again what her name was.  At least, she did see the funny side to what autocorrect had done. 🤣 The autocorrect system reminds me of the carnal mind that all humans have inherited. That mind let's you experience what you believe or are constantly thinking about, not necessarily the real truth. In other words, as the Bible puts it: "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he." Proverbs 23: 7 As a born-again Christian, I am constantly renewing my mind with the word of God in the Bible.  Therefore, how I now experience the world is being filtered through my Christ mind which autocorrects carnal mind beliefs. I have the mind of Christ. ❤️ ----- Relevant Bible verses:...

God is Now

Whole I was thinking about what it means to live in the present moment of Now, where God's grace is constantly flowing, I went to the kitchen to check the pasta I was cooking. Zeus, our resident cat, was eating his food in there and  I accidentally stepped on his tail. When he cried out in pain, I said sorry and stooped down to pet him. The look he gave me was as if he was saying, "I know you didnt mean it. I forgive you." He then went back to his food. It was then I realised God was showing me exactly what it's like to live in the moment of Now.  A moment ago, which lasted a few seconds, Zeus was in pain. The next moment he was at peace and enjoying his food. A few days ago, I had a similar experience.  I had been working at an exhibition at this museum, which was attracting a lot of last minute visitors rushing to see it before it closed on the 1st of March. At one time, it was so busy in the gallery, we were only allowing a few visitors in at a time.   When i...

Happy Birthday, Cat Mum

Image
It's my flatmate's birthday today.  Her cat, Zeus, asked me to create this card for his mum. 😊 Ps: Chatgpt is really good for creating fun stuff like these.

God-Given Dream

I have observed when God gives you a dream it will not only come to pass, it will last forever.  However, when a dream is of man's creation or based on their ego, it will turn into a nightmare.  In the Bible, Joseph was given two dreams that he would one day become a ruler of some sort.  After he shared his dreams with his family, there were negative forces that didn't want that dream to come true. Joseph was soon sold into slavery, and then ended up in prison for a crime he didn't commit. While it seemed like his dream was never going to be made manifest, Joseph kept trusting in God who was always with him and working through him. About 12 to 13 years later, Joseph did not only become governor of Egypt, he saved his people and the rest of the world from famine.  (See Genesis Chapters 37 to 50) Even though Joseph has long gone, his dream has a long term effect on humanity. Thank you, God, for giving me Your dream which is unfolding daily. ❤️

Do You Believe God Can Do This?

I love this sermon by John Kilpatrick. He's one of my favourite pastors. I am really grateful God led me to him.  ❤️

Pesto and Cheese Toastie

Image
Sometimes, I just fancy something very simple like a green pesto and cheese toastie. Delicious and very moreish. I give thanks to the Father of lights where all good things come from. ❤️ ----- Relevant Bible verse: "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." James 1: 17 All good gifts around us Are sent from Heaven above Then thank the Lord, oh, thank the Lord For all His love

You Magnify What You Focus On

Image
The photo below, which came up in my Facebook Memories, was taken 5 years ago. It is a reminder that you magnify what you focus on. The tree holds a special place in my heart because it is exactly where my university campus was based. I knew the surrounding was green but I was so focused on my studies, i didn't realise we were on the edge of an actual country park.  It was only years later that I started exploring that park, which is now one of my favourite parks. During Covid, that park was a life saver.  Now I focus and magnify Jesus and God's goodness in my life. Thank you, God, for giving us wonderful parks to enjoy in London. ❤️ ------ Relevant Bible verses: "Oh, magnify the Lord with me, And let us exalt His name together." Psalm 34: 3 "Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there ...
