Walking with God

"God is love." 1 John 4: 8 ---- A few days ago, I decided to play a game of looking for heart shapes in the clouds.  I was travelling on the bus at the time. The first thing I noticed was I was seeing lots of heart shapes outside - graffiti hearts on walls and hearts on shop windows. When I looked up, I saw a few heart shape clouds, but I wasnt able to photograph them as the bus was moving. Since then, I've noticed lots more heart shapes around me, including people wearing outfits with heart shapes. Look what I noticed in my pasta ready meal - a heart shaped mushroom. Thank you, God, for playing with me. ❤️

I've been thinking about what it means to have a hardened heart and what areas of my life are still hardened towards God. When your heart is hardened towards God, you can't see Him operating in and around you. A hardened heart blinds you to God's invisible realm and you only believe in what you can sense physically.  Another thing that hardens the heart is intellectualism. You think the intellect is the holy grail which can solve all of humanity's problems. I believe that's why many people who go to university as Christians end up rejecting God. I did the same. Now that there is AI and we have access to all kinds of knowledge - fact and fiction - at our fingertips, there is no longer any room or need for God's wisdom. Another thing that hardens the heart is our expectation about God.  It is written in the Scriptures that when Jesus was born into His culture, His own people did not recognise him as the Messiah as their hearts were hardened. When I went to read this online newspaper, the main headline was that this actor I used to watch in this comedy in the 1980s had passed away.   It was such a shock, I immediately felt a lurch in my heart. I quickly reminded myself that I have the Mind of Christ and felt peace. From that place of peace, I read a few articles about the actor. I even looked at social media and read tributes to the actor. That's why the Bible teaches believers to guard their hearts with the Word of God as what we let in will affect our hearts.   Peace to the actor's family and loved ones.  ❤️ ---- Relevant Bible verses: "My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. The Bible teaches us that we are what we think or believe in our hearts. I also find when I think of a person I have an emotional bond with, I experience what they are going through. That used to happen a lot with my mum. I was constantly feeling her physical pain. At the time, I put up with it because I love her. A few weeks ago, on the way to work, I thought of a very good friend. I wondered how he was.  When I got off the bus, I noticed I was feeling pain around my heart. I knew it was because I had been thinking about my friend who has had heart issues in the past. As I was walking to work, I kept thinking about Jesus instead.  Within a few minutes, the pain had dissolved.  The same friend was actually in hospital recently as he was having heart pain, but it wasn't anything serious, thank God.
