The Technology Expert

Four years ago, I was forced to buy a new phone as my old one stopped working and it was way too expensive to have it fixed.   I recently noticed my current phone has not only slowed down considerably, the battery is draining very quickly and it is not compatible with a few of the apps I use. I am now required to use apps to book jobs and to clock in/out. Some jobs even require you to join a WhatsApp group which drains the battery.  I've had to buy a new phone that can take the heavy load of work requirements. At the phone shop, I asked if they could set up the phone for me. They were happy to do so for a small fee, of course. It took ages for the transfer of data from my old phone to the new one.  When I checked the app that I use to book jobs, it wasn't working even though it was installed on the new phone. I told the shop staff that it's imperative that I have access to that app. I then asked him to call my new phone to test that it works. The call didn't come thr...

Blue is Also My Colour

Image
So I went to our local phone accessories shop to buy a new cover and screen protector for my phone. After rifling through his products, the shop owner found one cover for my phone, but it was blue. I asked him if he had it in black but he said it was the only one he had in stock for my phone type. He then found a screen protector that matched my phone screen and fitted it for me. As I was saying goodbye to the shop owner and his other customers, I told him I still didn't like the colour. "It's a nice colour," he said. "It will bring you luck." He would say that, wouldn't he? 😊 As I walking back, I told God blue is not really my colour. Immediately, two cars with the same shade of blue as my new phone cover, drove by, one after another. Very funny, God! I then looked down and realised I was wearing dark blue trainers. When I came home, I drank from my water bottle which was almost the same shade as my phone cover. I also noticed  the t-shirt I had change...

God’s Unlimited Power

I was chatting to my friends about how to save power on our phones. I said before I go to sleep, my phone is usually fully charged. I've noticed when I wake up in the middle of the night to check the time on my phone, the battery  power is no longer 100%.  I believe it's because my phone automatically backs up data when the phone is idle, which requires power.  I had a theory that if I switched off the wifi, the phone will not be able to backup, as it needs wifi to do so. Last night, I tested that theory.  Before I went to bed, I turned off the wifi on my fully charged phone to see if I can save power that way. After a while I checked my phone's power and noticed the battery was slightly depleted. It was then I remembered that the moment I switch off the wifi, the 5G network kicks in, which is faster than the usual wifi. As London has a wide coverage of 5G, I have constant access to the Internet wheher my wifi is switched on or not.  The only way to save power i...

Dailly Reminder of God's Love

I use the calendar on my phone to remind me of dates that are important to me and upcoming birthdays of loved ones. Some dates only occur once and others occur every year forever. So I thought, why not use the calendar to remind me, every day, of God's love, forever? Now, every morning, I receive the following reminder: ---- God is good. (Psalm 100: 5) God is love. (1 John 4: 8) God is great. (Psalm 95: 3) God is for me. (Romans 8: 31) God is faithful. (1 Corinthians 1: 9) Thank you, God, for being my everything. (John 14: 6; Philippians 4: 19) ----- I love my smartphone and all the apps. Thank you, God, for my phone! ❤️

When the Lights are On But Nobody's Home

Image
Last night I noticed my wireless charger was no longer working.  Usually, when the wireless charger is on, the light underneath the charger is blue. While the phone is being charged the blue light changes to red and returns to blue when the phone is fully charged. This time, the light underneath the charger remained blue and wasn't charging my phone. I wondered whether the fault was in the charger or my phone. I tried charging my phone with the cable and it worked. Today, I took.the charger to our local phone repair shop. I asked the techie if he could test the charger with his phone.  He showed me it wasn't charging his phone either, which meant there was a problem with the charger. I decided to get a new wireless charger which I tested first before buying.  Later, while I was going for a walk, I pondered over why the charger had stopped working.  It reminded me of the phrase  "The lights are on but nobody's home," which is a polite way of saying someone lacks ...
