Free Gift

In some museums I've worked at, there are trails that kids can follow and collect a prize once they have finished.

If kids are not able to complete the trail and I'm at the information desk, I give them whatever the prize is anyway whether it's a sticker, badge or stamp.  

I have noticed a lot of kids don't like receiving the "prize" if they have not done or completed the trail. I believe that's because humans have been programmed to earn or be deserving of their good.  When your good is given to you for free, you don't find it of value.

Is it any wonder why a lot of people reject God? Why would they want His free gift of salvation when they haven't earned it or don't feel they deserve it?

When I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour and became a born-again Christian, I received His free gift of salvation by grace through faith. (Ephesians 2: 8-9) This means, I didn't have to earn or deserve my salvation and all the free benefits that come with it. (Psalm 103: 1-5)

I am very open to constantly receiving God's undeserved, unearned and unmerited favours.  Thank you, God. ❤️

Bananas

 A few days ago while I was grocery shopping, I wondered if I should get some bananas, but I decided not to as they don't last long. That's why I only buy a banana when I fancy one in that moment.  I got red grapes instead which last a lot longer. Yesterday, I didn't see my flatmate as I was already in bed by the time she got home. This morning when I went in the kitchen, I noticed my flatmate had left a note on the kitchen top for me to have these two bananas. I immediately gobbled one up. On Being the Light of the World

"You are the light of the world." Matthew 5: 14 ---- I was booked to work as a steward at  this huge concert hall I've worked at before.  Usually after I am booked at a venue, I check what kind of concert or event it is. This one was a two day Christian conference promoting a course I've actually been on. There were going to be speakers and delegates from all over the world. Two days before the Christian conference, I was booked at a music venue I've never worked at before, but have always been curious about. When I checked who the band was, I discovered there were going to be several bands playing extreme metal music that promised to be very "dark."  I was going to cancel that booking, but  I remembered Jesus told believers that we "are the light of the world" which means we are to be the light for everyone, everywhere.  Also, God has not given me the spirit of fear. The Three Times

I have observed that there are three times - consensus agreement time, cultural time and God time. I was working as a host at this Bhangra concert. The official start time or consensus agreement time was 7.30pm. We kept reminding fans that the concert was about to start, but most of them paid no attention because they expected it to start late i.e. cultural time. There was this last mnute rush to get them in and show them to their seats. After the concert started, we were asked to only let fans in at the end of each performance, so we had to listen out for the applause. Some latecomers couldn't understand why they had to wait. While I was at the door, I explained that it is our policy to keep them waiting so we don't disrupt the performance.
