When a Christian is Behaving in a Non-Christian Way

ust because you were brought up by Christian parents/guardians who got you to attend church and a Christian school doesn't make you a Christian. I was baptised in a Church, brought up in a Christian family, attended a Methodist church and school, but I wasn't a Christian.

To be a Christian, you must be born-again. (John 3: 3) That means you have to make a choice to ask Jesus Christ to be  your personal Lord and Saviour. (Romans 10:9) That can happen at any age.

However, just because you are now a born-again Christian doesn't mean your personality instantly changes.  Your spirit or inner man is changed, but it takes time for your outer man to be changed as that involves renewing (reprogramming) your mind with the Bible so you embody the Gospel of Christ in your every day life. (Romans 12: 2) That's why it can take many years for someone to be ready for the ministry God has called them for.

A while back I wasn't feeling well. As my flatmate could see I was still coughing, she asked me how I was feeling. I told her I was already healed, but my body hadn't caught up yet. She accepted that. A few days later, my body finally caught up with the Truth of my healing and I was back to normal.

A Christian who is behaving in a non-Christian way is still a Christian, their mind simply hasn't caught up yet. ❤️

Relevant Bible verses:

"Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”...That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." John 3: 3, 6

"that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved....For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10: 9, 12-13

"And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." Romans 12: 2
