Travel Plans

Before work, I always check the travel app the night before for train times and the quickest route.

I decided I would catch the 08.08 train into town followed by the tube, which should give me enough time to stop at the local shopping centre to buy some food for lunch; walk leisurely to work; change into my uniform; gather everything I need; and have the usual banter with my work colleagues before our briefing.

On the actual day, I checked the travel app again. It said the earlier train, the 07.38,  was delayed and was now due at 07.41. As I was already dressed, I decided to catch that train, instead of the 08.08 train.

When I arrived at the platform, I noticed there was a revision to the train timetable showing that the 08.08 train was now cancelled and the second train was going to be 08.38. I knew if I had caught the 08.38 train, I would not have any time to get lunch and would arrive at work with only a few minutes to spare.

Thank you, God, for always adjusting my plans according to how You see things instead of my limited awareness. ❤️
