Our Daily Bread

"Give us this day our daily bread." Matthew 6: 11

-----

The last two days I've had a cold and cough.

When I first started experiencing the symptoms, I reminded myself that I am already healed (Isaiah 53: 5); and God wants me well (3 John 1: 2). The Holy Spirit also brought to my attention that I had been fearful of catching my flatmate's cold and cough which she's had for a while.  I reminded myself that God hasn't given me the Spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1: 7).

After praying and meditating on the Scriptures, I expected to be well, but it was taking a while for my flesh to receive my healing.

When I woke up this morning, I was feeling weak and I didn't feel like going to church. I put on my laptop to listen to some Christian sermons.  Someone mentioned something about life.  It got me wondering, "Who exactly is feeling tired?" I thought about what Paul had said in Galatians 2: 20:

"I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." Galatians 2: 20,

That's it. Christ is my life. I am going to church. I also needed to speak to the Reverend about a ministry I am interested in getting involved in.

After I had a shower and got ready for church, I was full of enrrgy. While I was walking to church, I reminded myself that as a born-again believer in Christ, I do not have my own life. Christ is my life.

During the service, the Reverend caught my attention and asked me to meet her later to give her my contact details so she could send me information about the ministry I'm interested in.

After the service, each of us was given a little plastic bag containing heart shaped Shortbreads, which the Reverend had baked.

Since I bought my portable charger, I've kept it in the plastic bag it orginally came in, but the bag is now in tatters and I need a new bag.  I notced the plastic bag the Shortbreads were in was the perfect size for my portable charger and charging cables. As soon as I finished the shortbreads, I moved the charger and cables into their new home.

After church, I went for a long walk and did some grocery shopping.

Thank you, God, for reminding me of the Truth of my life in Christ which freed me from the flesh. (John 8: 32) I was able to enjoy Your daily bread in the form of the wonderful Communion service, fellowship with other Christians, delicious Shortbreads, a new plastic bag for my charger, lovely weather, a nice long walk at the park, grocery shopping, and a bus ride home. I even brought a bag of Shortbreads for my flatmate.

Thank you, Father, for my daily bread. ❤️

Incline your ear to my sayings.
