God's Timing is Perfect

"A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." Proverbs 16: 9

After I finished my evening shift at this theatre, I stopped off at a store to get some grocery. I wondered if I should catch the tube home, but I decided to catch the bus instead.

At the bus stop, I noticed a young man and woman. I noticed the woman was all wrapped up and shivering. I asked her if she was cold. She said she was from Kenya and not used to the cold weather. I told her she will still get used to the weather.

When our bus arrived, I went upstairs. I was hoping to sit in front, but a passengr was already sitting on the right front seat. The left front seats were vacant, but I knew my Kenyan friends would enjoy those seats so I sat a few seats behind them.

During the journey, the couple chatted to the passenger opposite. I heard them talking about a certain park, which I know very well.  The young man mentioned he had been showing his friend around London and even taken her to a museum I worked at last year.

When the passenger on the right got off, I swapped seats so I could sit near my friends and chat to them.  I found out the young man has been studying in London, but his friend was visiting for a week. In fact, she was flying back to Kenya the next day.

I told them last year I worked at the museum that he had taken his friend to. I also discovered they were not only fellow Christians, we had a lot in common.  We exchanged contact details. I promised to send them further details about things we had discussed later.

Another thing was the woman wanted them to travel home by tube, but her friend persuaded her to travel by bus. I told them I was thinking of catching the tube as well, but I had a change of heart.

I believe God had ordered our steps so we could all meet up.

Later while I was browsing through my Memories on Facebook, there was a photo from six years ago of the same museum that my friends and I had been discussing on the bus.

I believe when you surrender yourself to God, who has all time in His hands, He makes you meet the right people at the right time.

Thank you, God, for my new friends. ❤️
