God’s Unlimited Power

I was chatting to my friends about how to save power on our phones. I said before I go to sleep, my phone is usually fully charged. I've noticed when I wake up in the middle of the night to check the time on my phone, the battery  power is no longer 100%.  I believe it's because my phone automatically backs up data when the phone is idle, which requires power.  I had a theory that if I switched off the wifi, the phone will not be able to backup, as it needs wifi to do so. Last night, I tested that theory.  Before I went to bed, I turned off the wifi on my fully charged phone to see if I can save power that way. After a while I checked my phone's power and noticed the battery was slightly depleted. It was then I remembered that the moment I switch off the wifi, the 5G network kicks in, which is faster than the usual wifi. As London has a wide coverage of 5G, I have constant access to the Internet wheher my wifi is switched on or not.  The only way to save power i...

On Being a Student

In my dream this morning, I was a student again. I didcovered I had two essays due in two days. I went looking for my course tutor to ask for an extension. My extenuating circumstances were I had been ill and hadn't attended lectures. I told him I  had already provided medical evidence. While I was waiting for the tutor to decide, I woke up from the dream. Thank God it wasn't real! I work with a lot of GenZs and they tell me they have used AI to help them write their essays.  In my student days, there was no such thing as the Internet. You had to do your own research and write it without any aids. When you finish writing the essay, you had to print it out and take it to the office, hand it in and make sure it was received before the deadline time or you'll be penalised. I wouldn't want to be a student again then or now. I prefer the teachings I am now receiving daily from the Holy Spirit about how to walk by faith in Christ and not by sight. ❤️ ----- Relevant Bible vers...

Belated Birthday Lunch

Image
Today, my flatmate treated me to a belated birthday lunch.  Our neighbour joined us for lunch and we had a lovely time together. Thank you, God, for Your constant blesings. ❤️

Changeless and Forever New

On this podcast, this music producer was being interviewed about his music. They discussed how his music has changed over the years and how the way people consume music has also changed because of technology.  However, the producer's passion for making music hasn't changed. It got me thinking of the paradox of God, the Creator, the source of all creativity. On the one hand, God never changes, and on the other hand, He is forever new. In other words, God's attributes are changeless, but the way He expresses His attributes are always new. The Bible teaches us that His mercies are new every morning. (Lamentations 3: 22-23) That means God's infinite attributes are constantly being expressed through His children in new ways.  Imagine that!  Every day, God is expressing through us new blessings, new ideas, new life, new light, new joy, new love, new peace, new revelations, new wonder...etc. What a wonderful God we have! ❤️ ----- Relevant Bible verses: "Through the Lord’s...

Another Little Friend

Image
This little friend was in our back garden.  My flatmate brought him to my attention. ❤️

Open My Eyes

Image
For the last two years I've been working on and off at this art gallery and never noticed this tree right opposite the building. I finally  noticed it yesterday and took a photo. It got me wondering - how many good things am I not seeing that are right under my nose?  Open my eyes, Lord, so I can see all the wonderful gifts You have in store for me. ❤️ ----- Relevant Bible verse: "Open my eyes, that I may see Wondrous things from Your law." Psalm 119: 18

My Little Friend

Image
So I bought a scoop of salted caramel ice cream and sat down to enjoy it. After I finished, I remained in the same spot basking in the sunshine. When  I spotted this wasp hovering, I said to him, "Mr Wasp, can I have a photo?" "Of course, Miss," he said. "Do you mind if I have your leftovers?" "Help yourself!" While my little friend was licking the tub, I took his photo. I love wasps, they are such delightful creatures. ❤️

Neo

Image
While I was having a chat/banter with a colleague at work, he told me I don't seem to live in the matrix (as inspired by the movie of the same name). In jest, I said to him, "I am the one and only Neo."   On the bus this morning, I noticed this van with the word "Matrix" on it. I took a photo and sent it to my colleague.  Yup, I am Neo. 😊 Actually, all born-again Christians are Neos in Christ. They live in the world, but they are not of the world. ❤️ ---- Relevant Bible verses: "I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world." John 17: 15-16 Photo of the van.  The Matrix film poster is from Google Images.

Conditional Ownership

Image
So my flatmate and I were discussing Zeus' behaviour. "Did you know YOUR cat has just ignored me? It's like I don't exist," I said.  "Oh, I see, when Zeus is misbehaving, he's MY cat, but when he's being a good boy, he's OUR cat," she said. "You've got that right!" We both burst out laughing. While I love Zeus unconditionally, my ownership of him is conditional. 😁 Here's a photo of Zeus lying on my bed. ❤️

Jesus is My King

Image
"A King rules, a King reigns, a King commands, a King protects, a King provides; and Jesus is that King crowned with glory, ruling with justice, returning in power." Source of quote: "5 Hidden Truths About Jesus They Don't Want You to Know" Accepting Jesus as King is very natural to me as I'm used to living in a Kingdom under a monarchy. Jesus is my King and I live as a citizen in His Kingdom forever. Amen. ❤️ ----- Relevant Bible verses: "and said: “O Lord God of our fathers,  are  You not God in heaven, and do You  not  rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand  is there not  power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You?" 2 Chronicles 20: 6 "The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein." Psalm 24: 1 "For God is the King of all the earth; Sing praises with understanding. God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne." Psalm 47: 7-8 "Your kingd...

Seeing Cash

Image
The other day, I was saying to someone that I haven't seen cash in a long time, as I tend to use my debit card for all transactions. This morning, when I opened a birthday card that my flatmate had given me, she had put a £20 note in the card. She obviously didn't know I had been thinking about cash, but God certainly did. My flatmate also gave me a lovely hamper and a gift from our neighbour. Thank you, God, for blessing me through my flatmate and neighbour. ❤️ ----- Relevant Bible verse: "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." James 1: 17

Birthday Greetings from GOD

I have a cousin with the initials, G.O.D., who has the same birthday as me. He  lives in Eastern Europe. He always texts me to wish me Happy Birthday a few hours before 12 midnight as they're ahead in time. I love the idea of receiving a special birthday greeting from G.O.D. every year. ❤️

Another Year, Another Birthday

Image
Today, I am celebrating another birthday, another year around the sun. I have been thinking about what that means to me, here and now. When you "lose" your loved ones, like your earthly parents, mortality starts becoming very real, whether you believe in it or not. Unless...unless you know whose you are and who you are in Christ. I know I belong to Christ and my identity is in Him. Christ is my life. For me, birthdays are no longer measured by how many trips I've made around the sun, humanly speaking,  but about how deep my faith in God has grown and is growing. Thank you, Lord, for giving me Your everlasting life forever. Amen. ❤️ ----- Relevant Bible verses: "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine." Isaiah 43: 1 "Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new cr...

God’s Constant Provision

Image
While I was busy binge watching episodes of Star Trek: Picard on my day off, I thought about changing my bedding and duvet cover. I thought I would put the pink duvet cover on. I decided to change my bedding the next day.  Suddenly, I heard my flatmate calling me. She asked me if I would like a pink bedcover and some pink pillow cases, as she knows how much I love pink. I told her I was just thinking of changing my bedding. The bed cover and pillow cases matched my bedding perfectly.  I went back to watching Star Trek. I then had a thought that I fancied some toast. I decided to make some later. I heard my flatmate calling me again. She said she had found a toastie machine that used to belong to her daughter. Did I want it? I said it depends if it still works. I decided to test it with a cheese toastie and it worked perfectly. I see myself having lots of toasties in the future.😊 The way my needs were met reminds me of the passage in the Bible that states when you become aware...

Jesus is Lord, Everywhere

A friend was telling me about when she had to travel for work to a country in the east known for their millions of gods. She said it was a huge culture shock to be in a culture where their religious beliefs pervades everything they do. She was very conscious that worshipping many gods goes against her Christian faith, but she also didn't want to offend her hosts. She said she kept praying about how to navigate in that world and at the same time not compromise her Christian values. I reminded her that while that eastern culture has a religious belief in many gods, our British culture in the west also has a belief in many gods, it's called secularism. Secularism has removed God from society, instead they believe in the gods of the self or ego aka personal truth, personal development and personal achievements.   Christians all over the world believe in the one Holy Trinity God - the Father, Jesus Christ or Son and Holy Spirit.  It doesn't matter what culture I find myself in...

The Holy Spirit's Language

At the bus stop, this woman sitting next to me seemed very agitated. She kept muttering to herself in a language I didn't understand.  Now and again, she called out the number 29, the bus I was waiting for. She then tapped my hand and pointed to the sleeve on her blouse and the button. I presumed she was asking me to button up the sleeve for her, which I did. She also "asked" me to button up the other sleeve. After I finished, she said thank you. In broken English, she said something about the underground not working.  Aha, that's why she seems agitated because the tubes are not running and she has to catch the bus. When our bus arrived, she said out loud, "29?  Not understand English."  I told her it was the bus 29. We all got on. She sat downstairs and I went upstairs.  When you have the Holy Spirit living in you, it doesn't matter if you can't speak someone's language, He will always show you how to "communicate" with the individual ...

How to Kill Time

The Bible teaches us that we become what we think. In a lot of my jobs, I have a lot of downtime.  For instance, while I was invigilating at this art gallery, I had lots of downtime.  I killed time by repeating the following truth declarations to myself about my identity in Christ. Christ lives in me (Galatians 2: 20) I am complete in Christ (Colossians 2: 10) I am the righteousness of God in Christ (2 Corinthians 5: 21) I have the Mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2: 16) Thank you, God, for giving me jobs where I can kill time by meditating on the Scriptures. ❤️ ----- Relevant Bible verses: "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he." Proverbs 23: 7 "For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ." 1 Corinthians 2: 16 "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." 2 Corinthians 5: 21 "Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit...

Divine Encounter

During my bus journey, I wondered if a friend, who works at a museum in central London, was working today. I was thinking of texting her, but I decided to leave it.  When I got off the bus, I walked to the local station to buy my lunch. On my way, I literally bumped into my friend. I told her I had been thinking about her. She told me she was on her way to work. After chatting for a few minutes, I told her I would see her later. What are the chances of bumpmg into a loved one among  eight million people in London?  Only the Holy Spirit can arrange that divine encounter. Thank you, Lord, for making me see my friend. ❤️

My Travel Companion

During my bus journey, this woman sat beside me.  At one point she asked me where Oxford Street was and I pointed it out to her. I asked her if she was new to London. She said she lives in Liverpool and wasn't very familiar with London. She also told me she was on her way to her country's embassy to renew her passport. I told her I actually received my new passport yesterday. We then had a nice chat about the weather. When we got off at the last stop, I  showed my friend how to get to the embassy. I even walked her part of the way.  I also pointed out a few tourist attractions. Before we parted company, we exchanged hugs. I believe the Holy Spirit brings people together who are having similar experiences so they can help each other out.  That's what makes life wonderful. ❤️

Christian Friends

Over the last two days, I've had a catchup with two of my Christian friends. There's nothing like having Christian friends who edify one another. Thank you, God, for  my sisters-in-Christ. ❤️

Extra

Image
The photo below was taken while we were filming "After Love" somewhere in Buckinghamshire. I was playing a refugee. On that day, a friendly wasp landed on my finger and it stayed long enough for me to have a close look at it.  A colleague I was with thought I was mad playing with a wasp. I told him wasps are beautiful. You can't be scared of something while you're busy admiring it. I reckon the wasp was an extra. 😊❤️ ------ Relevant Bible verse: "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love." 1 John 4: 18

Passport Photo

I was telling my work colleagues that I had received an email from the Passport Office to confirm that they had approved my application and I should be receiving my new passport shortly.  I told them I was relieved they didn't want a third party to verify my glum photo. I said I'm going to have to live with my miserable looking photo for the next ten years. One colleague said she looks like a convict in her passport photo. The other colleague said she looks happy in her passport photo. I asked her to show us. We were amazed she was actually smiling in her passport photo. "How on earth did you get away with a smiling photo? It can't be a British passport, you're not allowed to smile." "It's Indian," she said. "I see." "Actually, whenever I travel to India, immigration always tells me I'm the only photo they've seen with a smile," she said. Miracles do happen! 😆

Conspiracy Theories

Image
Anyone, who knows me personally, is aware that I'm a huge fan of the Star Trek universe i.e. a Trekkie. I watched the Star Trek Voyager episode, "The Voyager Conspiracy" again. (Season 6, episode 9)  I'd forgotten what a profound and timely episode it is. Seven of Nine aka Seven decides in order to assimilate as much data as she can, she's going to download them into her alcove while she  is regenerating (or asleep).  As Seven is trying to interptet the data she has downloaded, she starts coming up with conspiracy theories that cause division between the Captain and her second in command. At one point, Seven is so paranoid, she accuses the little girl, Naomi Wildman,  of being part of the conspiracy. 😆 In the end the Captain convinces Seven that there are no conspiracies; Seven's paranoia and conspiracy throries have been caused by information overload. Seven's information overload reminds me of the Internet. There is so much information out there, if ...

The Show Must Go On

I've been working at this live family theatre show, which consists of two actors, one understudy, the stage manager and our team of hosts who ensure visitors enjoy their experience. Over the last few weeks, I've got to know the actors and stage manager. One morning, one actor said he was feeling really tired. I said to him, "You might be tired, but the characters you are playing are not." "At least, I'm the one who is getting paid," he chuckled. A few days ago, the same actor started feeling unwell. He said he felt really dizzy on stage. When it was my turn to host inside the theatre, I kept an eye on him, but he seemed fine. By the next day, the actor was feeling worse. I noticed when the actor was being himself, he was sneezing.   From time to time, while he was off stage, I would hear him blowing his nose. Not once did I see him sneeze or cough while he was in character. I started experiencing the same symptoms as well which developed into a coug...

Is the Rapture Happening?

I've heard from the Christian grapevine that the Rapture is happening on the 23rd or 24th September 2025.   Do you know why I don't believe it's going to happen on either of those days? Because I'm actually booked to work at an event on the 24th September. There's no way I'm missing that event. 😆 Seriously, it is written: "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance." 2 Peter 3: 9, NIV I believe we've still got a long while yet before we reach that point when everyone comes to repentance.  However, if you no longer "see" me posting again on Facebook after the 24th September, you will know I was off the mark and have been raptured. 😊❤️ ---- Relevant Bible verses: [13] "But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. Fish and Chips

I've been craving for some fish and chips since last week.  Today, after I finished work,  I was inspired to go to this cafe located at the basement of this church. They had fish and chips on their menu. It was delicious!  Thank you, God! ❤️

Resolving Work Issues

While I was discussing work procedures with a colleague, I didn't like the way she had spoken to me.  I found her patronising and I was livid. I decided to speak to her about this later, as I didn't want to work in a toxic environment. While I was welcoming guests, I asked the Holy Spirit for help how to deal with this issue. I immediately started thinking of the Fruit of the Spirit which are: love, joy, peace, longsuffering (patience),  kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Galatians 5: 22-23) I reminded myself that because I have the Holy Spirit living inside of me, I have all those qualities inside of me.  By the time I saw my colleague I was feeling very peaceful. I thanked her for the advice she had given me earlier and said I would take it on board. For the rest of the shift, everything was harmonious between us. We even hugged at the end of the shift. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for Your constant help. ❤️ ----- Relevant Bible verses: "If you l...

Wolves in Sheep's Clothing

Image
As I was walking past this art gallery, where my friend works as a security guard, I was hoping she had a shift at one of the positions so I could have a quick chat with her. I spotted her standing outside this restaurant. While we were chatting, these two men turned up.  They asked if they could go in. My friend opened the restaurant door and let them in. She also followed them in. After a few minutes, she returned and said she had been watching the two men as they looked very suspicious and reported them to her supervisor. A few minutes later, two "guests" turned up. One looked like in his late teens and the other around 10 or 11 years old.  After both of them said hello, the younger one asked me if I could give him a hug. I shook my head, but he kept insisting on receiving a hug. The older boy walked away, but the younger one barged into the restaurant.  My friend went in after him and asked him to leave. Later, my friend told me asking me for a hug was a sleight of...
