God is the Superhero

In the news, there's a story about this Australian family (a mother and her three children) whose paddleboards and kayak were swept out to sea. The mum asked the eldest (13 year old) son, Austin, to swim 4km to get help. According to news reports, the boy swam for four hours, then ran 2 km to the nearest phone to get help. His family was then rescued.

While the newspapers have been portraying the boy as a hero, I've been wondering whether the boy believed in God.

In the attached video, Austin is describing what he was thinking of while he was swimming.  "I was thinking of all my friends at school, friends in my Christian youth." (6.29)

Aha, Austin mentions "Christian youth" which means he has been brought up in the Christian faith.

At 9.43 of the video, Austin continues,  "I don't think it was me that actually did it. I was thinking of God the whole time. I kept on praying, I kept on praying and I said to God, "I'll get baptised, I'll get baptised", all that. I went to church on Sunday."

The mainstream media have described the boy as a hero even though the boy keeps insisting he's not.  The mainstream media has no interest in acknowledging God as the boy's Helper, who was giving him strength.  Their narrative is to promote human will and self-power.

I believe because of Austin's faith, God was right there with him and his family in their time of trouble.

Austin even says while he was getting emergency help for his family, he was "very calm about it." (9.00)  Only God can give you that kind of calmness.

Thank you, God, for saving Austin and his family. ❤️
