About Identity
While I was browsing this news website on my phone, I noticed an article about this celebrity. The first few lines described him as a "mixed race, university drop-out, born into poverty." At that point, I lost interest and stopped reading.
In the world, your identity is based on what you look like, your cultural heritage, your circumstance and your worldly achievements. How the world sees me is not my identity, my identity is based on my relationship with Christ as follows:
I am a child of God,
I am the righteousness of God in Christ.
I am complete in Christ.
I am the light of the world.
I am an ambassador of Christ.
I decided to attend a local church near home, which I've only been to once before.
The sermon was about how our identity changes when we accept Christ as our Lord and Saviour.
After the service, I spoke to the lay-preacher and told her I had been thinking of my identity in Christ. She said she was glad God was confirming her sermon through me.
Thank you, God, for inspiring me to attend that church service. ❤️
