The Lord is My Companion

I couldn't sleep as I was thinking of my job and how I didn't feel equipped, as my employer still hadn't provided the resources I had asked for. I was even thinking of the conversation I was going to have with my manager.

After several hours of tossing and turning mentally and physically, I reminded myself that Jesus is Lord of all aspects of my life.

I then repeated the following verse: "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want" (Psalm 23: 1) until I fell asleep.

I was feeling really peaceful when I woke up the next morning.

Later, when I got on the train, it was packed full so I had to stand. Two stops down, a passenger got off near where I was standing. This young man, who was standing next to the vacant seat, asked me if I wanted to sit down. I said yes and thanked him.

The first thing I noticed was the seat in front of me was a "companion seat" for a wheelchair user travelling with their companion.  It was the first time I'd  seen it and I took a photo of it.  At that time of the day, those seats were occupied by commuters.

The "companion seat" reminded me of the Bible verse I had been meditating on the night before. The Lord, who is my Shepherd, is also my constant Companion and makes everything work out for the best.

When I got to work and I spoke to my manager, she had all the resources I had been worrying about the night before to help me do my job.

In other words, tthe Lord had already provided what I thought I was lacking.

"The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need." Psalm 23: 1, NLT ❤️
