A Tale of Two Cats

This is a tail, I mean, tale of two cats:  a stray cat and one that has a home.

The stray cat, called, Loudmouth is free to come and go as he pleases, but that freedom comes at a huge price. He has no home, no one to take care of him, and lives in constant fear. He gets food by either sneaking into people's homes to steal food or relies on the kindness of strangers to feed and pet him. (My flatmate regularly feeds him and I feed him occasionally). As soon as he's finished eating, he's off to his life of freedom.  In inclement weather, Loudmouth has to find a shelter somewhere. If Loudmouth is injured or sick, there's no one to take him to the vet or take care of his injuries unless someone decides to call a cat charity organisation.  

Unlike Loudmouth, Zeus  (my flatmate's cat) has a home where he is loved and safe. While Zeus is relatively free to come and go, he has to abide by certain house rules: his mum keeps him indoors at night and when it's too cold or wet. Zeus has several beds to sleep on including ours. He is fed good quality food, which he sometimes rejects.  When he's in the mood for love, he comes to me or his mum for cuddles. When Zeus has a medical need, his mum takes him to the vet.

To me, Zeus and Loudmouth  represent believers and unbelievers in Christ.

Believer who have received Christ as their Lord and Saviour are sons and daughters of God. This means they belong to God. God is their Provider and they have everlasting life in Christ. Believers still have freewill, but their choices are based on God's purpose for their lives.  Their spirits have an eternal home in Christ 

Unbelievers who reject Christ are free to live their own lives, do whatever they want and believe whatever they want.  After physical death, their spirits continue to live in a Godless realm where there is eternal fear and torment.

I can choose God and be His child and live with Him forever or reject Him and live separated from Him forever.

Thank you, God, for giving me Your everlasting home and life in Christ. ❤️

The Holy Spirit's Language

At the bus stop, this woman sitting next to me seemed very agitated. She kept muttering to herself in a language I didn't understand.  Now and again, she called out the number 29, the bus I was waiting for. She then tapped my hand and pointed to the sleeve on her blouse and the button. I presumed she was asking me to button up the sleeve for her, which I did. She also "asked" me to button up the other sleeve. After I finished, she said thank you. In broken English, she said something about the underground not working.  Aha, that's why she seems agitated because the tubes are not running and she has to catch the bus. When our bus arrived, she said out loud, "29?  Not understand English."  I told her it was the bus 29. We all got on.
