My Allegiance is to Christ
I find it interesting how professional footballers have two teams they play for: the team they've signed a contract for, which is usually the top football teams in the world; and for their country. In international football matches, team members end up playing against each other as their allegiance is to their country.
For instance, Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham currently play for the Spanish team, Real Madrid, and obviously live in Spain on a temporary basis. However, when it comes to the World Cup, Mbappe is playing for France and Bellingham is playing for England.
In the same respect, as Christians, God has chosen the nations that we all live in. While I am based in the UK, work in the UK and support the UK, I never forget that my allegiance is to Christ and my citizenship is in Heaven.
I am a Christian playing for the British team. ❤️

Relevant Bible verses:
“God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. [25] Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. [26] And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, [27] so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; [28] for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’" Acts 17: 24-28
"Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God." 2 Corinthians 5: 20
"For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself." Philippians 3: 20-21
