Jesus is My Stress Reliever

When I went on Facebook this morning, the first post I saw on my newsfeed was a video by a pastor called Chad Gonzales.

He wrote: 

"Fear, anxiety, stress—it's all pride. The moment you get anxious, you're looking to YOURSELF to be your own God, provider, healer, protector. Humility is submission to God.

Where is your consciousness right now?"

As my flatmate had been talking about how stressed she was at work, I showed her the post.  I don't think she took it in as she was too busy preparing for work and soon left. I had the day off.

Later when my flatmate returned from work, she showed me the gifts she had received from the kids in her class on their final day before they broke up for the summer holidays.  She even gave me some chocolates and flowers she had received.

Later, she showed me  this onject a kid had given her.

"It looks like a stress ball," I said.

"I don't want it," she said. 

"I'll have it. It looks like a fun toy to play with, Zeus" I said. 

(Zeus is my flatmate's cat).

I took a photo of the toy and looked it up on the Web. The toy was described as a "hands-on stress reliever and fidget toy for kids and adults."

I told my flatmate what it was.

"You can use it as a stress reliever," she said.

"It's funny how I showed you that Facebook post this morning about the cause of anxiety and stress, and you brought me a stress reliever." 

We both laughed.

Jesus tells His followers to give Him all their stress and anxiety and find relief in Him, but the world says you can handle your stress with a stress reliever. 😁

No, thank you, world. I'll stick with Jesus. 

I am going to keep the toy as a reminder to surrender all to Jesus. I am not my own God, Jesus is. ❤️

God's Timing is Perfect

"A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." Proverbs 16: 9 ----- After I finished my evening shift at this theatre, I stopped off at a store to get some grocery. I wondered if I should catch the tube home, but I decided to catch the bus instead. At the bus stop, I noticed a young man and woman. I noticed the woman was all wrapped up and shivering. I asked her if she was cold. She said she was from Kenya and not used to the cold weather. I told her she will still get used to the weather. When our bus arrived, I went upstairs. I was hoping to sit in front, but a passengr was already sitting on the right front seat.
