Rainbow after the Storm

Today, there was a thunderstorm, but I was indoors, thank God, working at this event. By the time I finished work, the storm was over.

Later on the way home, I saw this beautiful rainbow. (See photo below)

Genesis 9:8-17 NKJV

[8] Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons with him, saying: [9] “And as for Me, behold, I establish My covenant with you and with your descendants after you, [10] and with every living creature that is with you: the birds, the cattle, and every beast of the earth with you, of all that go out of the ark, every beast of the earth. [11] Thus I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.” [12] And God said: “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: [13] I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. [14] It shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud; [15] and I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. [16] The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” [17] And God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that is on the earth.” Genesis 9: 8-17

The Three Times

I have observed that there are three times - consensus agreement time, cultural time and God time. I was working as a host at this Bhangra concert. The official start time or consensus agreement time was 7.30pm. We kept reminding fans that the concert was about to start, but most of them paid no attention because they expected it to start late i.e. cultural time. There was this last mnute rush to get them in and show them to their seats. After the concert started, we were asked to only let fans in at the end of each performance, so we had to listen out for the applause. Some latecomers couldn't understand why they had to wait. While I was at the door, I explained that it is our policy to keep them waiting so we don't disrupt the performance. An Easy Day

Before I went to work at this museum, I thanked God for an easy, fun and wonderful day. Half of my time was spent working in the gallery, where I was invigilating, and in the shop serving customers.  Although it was really busy with a constant flow of visitors and kids, I found it easy as God was working in me and through me My work colleagues were also very nice and helpful and I enjoyed working with them. I also enjoyed chatting to the parents and their kids. While I was tidying up an area of the gallery, I found this soft toy and I gave it to a colleague to look after. Later, I saw this boy sitting in the cafe with his mum and sister. I noticed he was carrying the toy I had found in the gallery. I told him I was glad he got his toy back. I asked him how old they were, he was six years old  and his sister was ten. The boy said his birthday was on the 27th December. I told him my nephew's birthday was also on that day.
