I'm a Member!
While I was scanning visitors in at this event, the security guard inside the gallery asked me to wait a little while before letting any more visitors in as it was getting too crowded.
I then asked the next three visitors if they could wait a little while as the gallery was now too full to let anyone in.
One of them said, "Why should I have to wait? I'm a member! You can't expect me to stand here!"
I explained to her that it will only take a few minutes, but she was having none of it. I decided to let the member and her two companions in.
Some battles are not worth fighting. 😆
The art gallery member got me thinking of my own membership of the Body of Christ. All Christians who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour have been given the right to become children of God. (John 1: 12)
With that membership comes lots of benefits, but you have to know what those benefits are and how to claim them. That's why it's important to study the Bible to know what those benefits are. (2 Timothy 3: 16-17,)
One benefit is healing. On the cross, Jesus took on all our diseases on His body for all time in exchange for His healing. Like the member at the art gallery, I have to keep reminding myself that as a member of the Body of Christ:
"By His stripes, I am healed." (1 Peter 2: 24)
Why should I have to experience life like an unbeliever? I am a MEMBER of the Famly of God! 😊❤️
