Clocking In and Clocking Out

The agency I mostly work for notified us they were now going to be using this app to book jobs  We are also required to clock in and out using that app.

When I arrived at work, I used the app to clock in.  It was the first time I was using the app with this client.  It was then it occurred to me that in the past when I've worked in a theatre and the event has finished early, the duty manager has released us and still paid us till the end of the shift.  If I finish early and clock out using this app, will I still get paid to the end of the shift?

I asked the duty manager, but he wasn't sure.  He told me he would contact the appropriate department to find out.  When I didn't hear from the manager, I decided to email our agency, on behalf of all agency staff working at that company, to ask for their advice.  I noticed the agency had just sent us an email reminder about using the app to clock in and out.  So I responded to that email. The agency said if we are released early and we clock out, the client will have to manually update our time to the confirmed end of shift time.

The building I was in has six levels. When I received the email from my agency, I was on my lunch break and sitting in the cafe on level two. I decided to go  looking for the duty manager to let him know what my agency had said. I was hoping to find him in their office.  Just as I was about to walk up, I heard someone on the radio saying the duty manager was coming down. I decided to wait for him. When he arrived, I quickly passed on the information from my agency. 

A few minutes later, I saw the second duty manager walking towards me. After saying hello, I passed on the information about the app. I then returned to my shift on level six.

I actually finished  over an hour early and I clocked out. On the lift down, I got chatting to this woman I've never seen before. We even worked to the local tube station and travelled a few stops together.

I asked her what department she worked for and she said she's the one who books agency staff and calculates their hours.  I told her I had finished an hour early and I had to clock out using the app. She said she was aware of how the app works. She assured me they will adjust my time and I  will get paid for the full shift.

Only God could have arranged for me to meet the right people at the right time.
