Two Types of People

Before I went to work, I decided to stop off at this shopping centre to buy some food for lunch. I had to go through one shopping centre to get to the one I wanted.

The first centre has lots of heavy doors you have to push to get through. I was walking right behind this man.

After the man pushed the first door, he left the door open for me. I also left the door open for the person behind me.

He did the same for the second door and I made sure I left the door open for the person behind me.

Ditto the third door.

At the last door, although I was now about two seconds behind the man, he waited for me with the door open. I thanked him and left the door open for the person behind me. I then went to do my shopping in the other shopping centre.

On the way back I walked through the doors for the disabled where you can push the button and it opens for you.

I noticed this man on the other side  pushing the door and walking through. He didn't bother to check if there was someone behind him. The next  person did the same. It was everyone for themselves. 😀

My shopping centre experience represents two types of people in this world: the ones who love others as themselves; and the ones who only love themselves.

God bless both types of people including those who slam the doors in your face. 😀

Relevant Bible verses:

Matthew 22:36-40 NKJV

[36] “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” [37] Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ [38] This is the first and great commandment. [39] And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ [40] On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:36-40

"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God."  I John 4:7
