The Holy Spirit as Converter

My flatmate and I were discussing her cat, Zeus, and whether he was putting on weight.

I picked Zeus up and said, "He seems fine to me."

"He's about 6 kilos?" she said.

"I don't know what kilos are," I said.

"I don't know what stones are," she said.

It got me thinking about the Bible.

Trying to understand the Bible is rather like having a "kilos" mentality and trying to understand it in "stones." The only way to understand it is by using a converter. The Holy Spirit is the Converter and He will help you understand what you're reading. However, in order to have access to the Holy Spirit, you need to be saved i.e. have received Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. Jesus has promised that He will pray for the Father to give us the Holy Spirit as our Helper, who will live in all believers forever.

Thank you, Holy Spirit, for being my eternal Converter. ❤️

Relevant Bible verses:

"If you love Me, keep My commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you." John 14: 15-18

"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." John 14: 26

"However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come." John 16: 13

"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17
