Personal Power is Temporal

I find it interesting watching how top seeds tennis players rise and fall over the years.

They start off with a lot of energy and power as they are still really young. The moment the top seeds hit their mid-thirties, they start struggling against the youngsters and they have to retire as professional tennis players.

That's what happens when you rely on your personal power, it can only take you so far.

I remember how much energy I used to have. I was constantly running up and down the stairs at the tube stations. The moment I hit my mid-thirties, I found I was constantly exhausted.  That's when I became humble and knew I needed to find another source of energy.

I realised that source of energy was God.

A lot of the places I work at these days requires long hours of standing. I couldn't do those jobs if I didn't know God was giving me His strength.

Back to the tennis hotshots. I believe their career would last a lot longer if they acknowledged God as their source of power.

And to those who have no might He increases strength.

They shall run and not be weary,

They shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40: 28-31
