Holy Spirit's Guidance
"A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." Proverbs 16: 9
----
I had arranged to meet up with an old friend on my day off so we could have a catch up. I did say to him, in jest, that I'm not coming out if it's too hot.
One day when I was working at this arts shop, I bought something I thought my friend would find amusing. Two days later, I had this urge to call him to cancel our meeting as it was going to he too hot on that day. I was going to ask him if I could go round to his place now and give him the gift. I dismissed the thought. I then had another urge to call him, which I did.
When my friend answered the phone, I could tell immediately from his voice that there was something wrong. I asked him if he was okay. He told me he hasn't been feeling well for the last four days and he was about to go to the hospital. As he's had heart issues before, it was the right decision for him. I asked him if he wanted me to accompany him. He said no as it would be boring sitting around at A&E (accident and emergency). He was going to get a taxi to the hospital. He promised to keep me posted.
He was right. Because of how slow the system is these days, he was kept in A&E for over 24 hours before he got to see a doctor.
They kept him in the hospital for four days before he was discharged. His daughter has been taking care of him.
Even though I didn't get to see my friend, I was praying for him. We will meet up another time.
The Holy Spirit is always speaking to us, but we have to make the choice whether to follow His guidance or not.
Thank you, Holy Spirit, for your constant guidance. ❤️
