Break Cover

Usually a day or two before an event, our agency briefs us about what is expected of us and our uniforms.

For this particular event, I was only asked about it the day before. I presumed someone had dropped out at the last minute and I was available to cover.

The night before the event, our supervisor texted us a 23 page brief from the client. I was feeling overwhelmed after reading the first three pages. I asked God to help me understand the information.

Our supervisor soon texted us a six page document with the main points from the client's brief. Although our supervisor's version was a lot simpler, it was still a lot of information to take in. I had a feeling I wouldn't even need all that information anyway as I was only doing break cover for one day.

I decided to go to bed.

The next morning, I prayed for God to make my day at the event easy, fun and wonderful.

At the event, everything made sense.  Visitors could download the company's app anyway, which had all the information they needed. I was able to direct visitors by using the map, which was self-explanatory. My supervisor even told me she was making my break covers very "easy."  The colleagues I was doing break cover for worked in the same area which meant I didn't have to go traipsing all over the place looking for them.

Even though there were technical glitches at the theatres I was working at, they soon got smoothed out.

It was good to see old friends I've worked with before on film sets and at other events.  While I was on my break, I  saw another friend who was working at a different event.

Later, while I was working with another supervisor, I discovered we shared a love of trees, which was wonderful. He even allowed me to go home an hour early.

Thank you, God, for making the complicated simple,  the difficult easy, and every day easy, fun and wonderful. ❤️
