Time versus Timeless

I watched the film, Mission Impossible 2 again, which I've seen many times. It is one of my favourites of the Mission Impossible films.

One scene I've always found fascinating is the part where Ethan and Nyah's cars almost collide and everything is in slow motion.  We see Nyah desperately steering her car which is out of control. Ethan is also steering his car beside her. Nyah's car ends up near a cliff and Ethan then rescues her.

From Ethan's and Nyah's perspectives, time slows down. However, to anyone observing the near miss, it all happened really fast.

That scene reminds me of the time when I was nearly run over by a single decker bus.  Just as the bus was about to hit me, time seemed to slow down. I had all the time in the world to twist my body away from the bus, retrieve my slipper from underneath the bus, and then ran to catch the double decker bus behind. It was only after I sat down that I was able to process what had just happened.  I reckon to someone observing the near miss, including the bus driver, everything happened very fast.  I probably was moving at the speed of light like Superman.

I believe the two times represent two realities:  the material time/space and the spiritual timeless.  In the timeless reality, one moment can last forever. The Bible refers to the timeless realm as the Kingdom of Heaven.

People who have had near death experiences talk about entering a realm where they seem to be there for eternity. However, in the time/space reality they've only been dead for a few minutes.

When you become a born again Christian i.e, when you accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour, the God of the impossible lives in you. While you appear to be still living on earth, you're actually living in and operating from Heaven.  Like Ethan in the Mission Impossible films, you are now a secret agent representing Christ and the supernatural becomes natural to you.

We don't have to die to experience the timeless realm of Heaven, we can experience Heaven right here on earth through Jesus Christ. ❤️
