The Three Times

I have observed that there are three times - consensus agreement time, cultural time and God time.

I was working as a host at this Bhangra concert. The official start time or consensus agreement time was 7.30pm. We kept reminding fans that the concert was about to start, but most of them paid no attention because they expected it to start late i.e. cultural time. There was this last mnute rush to get them in and show them to their seats.

After the concert started, we were asked to only let fans in at the end of each performance, so we had to listen out for the applause.

Some latecomers couldn't understand why they had to wait. While I was at the door, I explained that it is our policy to keep them waiting so we don't disrupt the performance.

Some fans came out to get drinks at the bar and wanted to get back in, but I told them they had to wait until the next entry point. 

The funniest thing was when this woman came out of the concert to get her friend to go in with her. I told her that wasn't happening and she was now going to have to wait with all the latecomers until the next entry point. 😀

While I was at the main doors, this woman walked in. 

"Has the concert started yet?" she said.

"Yes, it actually started an hour ago," I said. "They are about to come out for the interval."

"How come, it's an Indian concert?"

"This concert hall starts on time, I'm afraid." I was trying very hard to keep a straight face.

While I was talking to her, the audience came out. I reminded her that the interval would last about 20 minutes. She said she was still waiting for her friend to arrive. 😀

After the interval, fans could now come in and out as they pleased.

The absolute classic was when three fans arrived at 9.45pm. (The concert was due to finish at 10.15pm and actually finished on time). They asked me if they could show me their tickets. I told them to just go in. 😀

I believe God time is not only now,  it has already happened.  The Bible says, before you even ask, God has already answered. (Isaiah 65: 24) In other words, all the good gifts that God has for His children exist now.  (Ephesians 1: 3) We simply have to draw them out by faith. (Hebrews 11: 1)

I believe if you're so caught up in consensus agreement time or cultural time, and you're not aware of God time, you're going to miss out on the wonderful blessings that God has for you now.
