King of Kings
All Christians who have been baptised with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2: 4) have the gift of speaking in tongues which can be used to communicate with the Holy Spirit to edify yourself. Some Christians have been given the gift of interpretation of tongues for others. (1 Corinthians 12; 14)
While I was travelling on the bus to work, I was silently singing in tongues. Then I started thinking of what it means to live by the two laws - the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus versus the law of sin and death. (Romans 8: 2)
While I was meditating on that Bible verse, a young man came and sat behind me and started playing really loud music which changed every few seconds. I was really bothered by his music. I noticed an empty seat a few seats in front and I thought about moving, but I was inspired to stay put. I closed my eyes and started singing silently in tongues. The first thing I noticed was I was no longer bothered by his music. It felt like I had an energy field around me.
Next, I noticed the man kept switching his music on and off. At one point, a song came on with the words "Allahu Akbar" which I know means "God is great!"
While I continued to sing silently in tongues, the man continued to switch his music on and off. Finally, he switched his music off. I heard him yawning several times as if he was about to fall asleep. Hallelujah!
When I got off the bus, I waited at the stop for my next bus. The first bus that arrived wasn't mine, but I noticed it had a poster on the side of the bus advertising the new animated film, "King of Kings" about the life of Jesus. (Funnily enough, a week ago I watched the 1960s film "King of Kings").
My experience on the bus reminds me of what the Bible teaches that our daily experiences are always spiritually inspired by good or evil principalities and powers in high places and the battle for supremacy has to be fought and won spiritually. (Ephesians 6: 12)
Most people who listen to music while travelling on the bus show consideration to others by using headphones or airpods. However, I believe the man sitting behind me was being inspired to show no consideration to others. I knew there was no point asking him to turn his music down or off.
When I sang quietly in tongues, the Holy Spirit not only dissolved the noise, He also reminded me that my God is great and He is the King of kings.
Thank you, Jesus! ❤️
