Can't Complain

"You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore." Psalm 16: 11

The bus driver announced that a particular road was closed and he was going on a diversion. Just as he was about to drive down another road that would lead us back on track, we heard the driver swearing under his breath, which made me chuckle. He told us that road was now blocked. Apparently, because of an earlier accident, the police had cordoned off that road. The driver let everyone off at the next stop.

I told the driver he can't just dump us there as some of us had not yet arrived at our destination.  He said he was going to speak to his boss. After he called them, he told us that the route was now too complicated and he wasn't going any further. He suggested we catch another bus.

A few of us walked to another bus stop where I was able to catch a bus that would take me all the way to work. I was really grateful I had been inspired to leave home early, which had given me enough time, despite the diversions. I even arrived at work half an hour early.

After I finished work, I decided to travel a different route.  I soon realised that bus was on a diversion. It took so long, it would have been quicker to walk. At least I got to see parts of London I hadn't seen before.

On my next bus, there was also a diversion. This passenger got on and sat beside me. He asked me if I had seen him running to catch the bus. I said no. He said if he'd known there was going to be a diversion, he wouldn't hsve bothered running, he would have caught another bus. He and I had a nice chat. I shared with him the interesting places I've worked at. We also chatted about our favourite tennis players. I told him my all time favourite is Roger Federer. Before my friend got off, he told me I had made his journey very enjoyable.

On the last bus, there were kids playing songs. One of them was the "Baby Shark" song which my flatmate had introduced me to as the kids in her class love it. Recently, when I was working at an arts centre where there were lots of kids, they were playing that same song nonstop. (That song has over 3 billion views).

When things appear not to be going your way, don't complain. There's always a lot of fun to be had as there is Joy in every moment. ❤️
