Loving the Stray Cat

I noticed the stray cat, my flatmate has been feeding, was sitting outside the back door. He was obviously looking for more food.

I gave him a packet of Zeus' food, but I served it in another bowl. The cat wanted to come in, but I refused. I  placed the bowl outside.  Although Zeus (my flatmate's cat) saw me feeding the stray, he didn't seem to mind at all.

After a while, I noticed the cat was back at the back door. I wondered if he'd finished the food and wanted some more.  I checked the bowl and saw he had hardly touched the food.

"Aren't you hungry?" I said to him.

After I gently stroked him, he started eating.

Oh I see, he was not just looking for food, he wanted some affection. No wonder the poor thing looks so skinny. He probably isn't been shown human affection wherever he's from.

My flatmate told me when she tried to stroke him before, he had hissed at her. I was actually praying for the cat this morning. Maybe, that's why he let me stroke him.

When I checked the bowl again, he had almost finished it and he was gone. I didn't leave the bowl outside as I didn't want our neighbour's cat eating the leftovers as she is on some special diet.

I'm so happy Zeus is so gracious to the stray cat.

God bless the stray cat.❤️
