A Long Life of Service

While I was working with a volunteer, he told me it was his birthday today. I told him it was also my late mum's birthday. I asked him how old he was and he said 92. He was so sprightly for his age, he put me to shame.

Another volunteer I worked with was in his 80s and he was very hard working.

Just because you're a certain age doesn't mean you stop being productive.

As a Christian I believe I have eternal life through God's Son, Jesus Christ. (1 John 5: 12)  As God's life is constant activity, there's always going to be a way I can serve.  Therefore, retirement is not an option.

Thank God for my work colleagues for showing me what a long life of service looks like. ❤️

Bananas

 A few days ago while I was grocery shopping, I wondered if I should get some bananas, but I decided not to as they don't last long. That's why I only buy a banana when I fancy one in that moment.  I got red grapes instead which last a lot longer. Yesterday, I didn't see my flatmate as I was already in bed by the time she got home. This morning when I went in the kitchen, I noticed my flatmate had left a note on the kitchen top for me to have these two bananas. I immediately gobbled one up. Thank you, God, for providing my bananas through my flatmate. ♥️ Photo of the note and bananas 😊

Indiana Jones

Today, I was working as a host at three graduation ceremonies from the same university. At the end of each ceremony, the orchestra they had on stage played the theme song from the film, "Indiana Jones", composed by John Williams. By the end of my shift, I had that song stuck in my head. On the way home, I stopped at this restaurant to get some food then walked to the bus stop  As the bus I wanted got cancelled, I decided to travel a different route, which took a lot longer.  When I finally got home, I had a quick shower. I then turned on my laptop to watch some mindless TV on this film channel. Guess what film they had on? "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull." Very funny, God! 😂 Of course, I had to watch it again, even though I've seen it a zillion times. I never get tired of Indiana Jones films or that theme song. ❤️
