Trigger Point

"Search me, O God, and know my heart;

Try me, and know my anxieties;
And see if there is any wicked way in me,
And lead me in the way everlasting."  Psalm 139: 23-24

----

My flatmate and I had a disagreement and I said something which really upset her. It was actually the first time we've had such a confrontation since we've been living together and I was also feeling really hurt.

When I went to my bedroom to cool down, I asked God to forgive me and to reveal why I was feeling this way. First of all He told me He loved me. He then showed me a past memory from a previous flatmate where I had  had a similar confrontation because I had been disrespected. I asked God to heal that memory and all grudges I was still holding in me. After a few minutes, I was feeling at peace.

By then my flatmate had gone out. When she returned, I apologised to her for the things I had said. I explained my past experience to her which had been triggered, and assured her it had nothing to do with her. I said God had revealed the cause and healed that memory. She gave me a hug and told me she didn't hold any grudges.

Thank you, God, for your unconditional love. ❤️

Relevant Bible verses:

"Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." 1 Corinthians 13: 8-10
