God is Not the Cause of Destruction

Last week when I attended this new church in my area, I noticed their service was not as orderly as I would prefer.  In fact, I heard two of the leaders mentioned the word "chaotic."

The church had stated on their website that their services usually finish at 12pm, but after 12pm, the pastor was still preaching. He then said  they were going to sing some more songs before they finished. That was my cue to leave as I had arranged to see a friend and I didn't want to be late. 

On my way, I thought again about the church service and the following Bible verse came to mind:

"For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints." 1 Corinthians 14: 33

While I was with my friend, one of the things we discussed was a reality TV show we've both watched called "Million Dollar Listing LA." I told my friend  I only watch those shows out of curiosity to see how millionaires live. I said some of the houses are so huge, they must employ staff to look after their properties.  

Two days later, I was very shocked when I heard about the fires starting in LA that were affecting hundreds of thousands of people including A list celebrities.   The next day (9th January) one of the posts that popped up on my Facebook Memory from 2022 was about me commenting on a film I had watched with lots of A list actors of the day. The film was called "Towering Inferno."  (See link below)

The fires remind me of what Jesus said:

"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." John 10: 10

I believe in what Jesus said. God is not creating those fires and obstruction to put them out. That is the work of the devil working through people. However, I believe God will use the situation and transform it to good.

May God create a perfect and peaceful resolution to the situation in Jesus name.

Remember, God is not the author of confusion but of peace.

An Easy Day

Before I went to work at this museum, I thanked God for an easy, fun and wonderful day. Half of my time was spent working in the gallery, where I was invigilating, and in the shop serving customers.  Although it was really busy with a constant flow of visitors and kids, I found it easy as God was working in me and through me My work colleagues were also very nice and helpful and I enjoyed working with them. I also enjoyed chatting to the parents and their kids. While I was tidying up an area of the gallery, I found this soft toy and I gave it to a colleague to look after. Later, I saw this boy sitting in the cafe with his mum and sister. I noticed he was carrying the toy I had found in the gallery. I told him I was glad he got his toy back. I asked him how old they were, he was six years old  and his sister was ten. The boy said his birthday was on the 27th December. I told him my nephew's birthday was also on that day. Letting Go of Grievance

Last night while I was working at  this concert, most of the guests I met were friendly and polite, but there was one particular guest who was challenging. After the event finished, I reported the experience to the duty manager and let it go, or so I thought. When I woke up this morning, the guest was still in my head. I asked God to help me let go of any grievance I was holding.
