If Cats Could Talk

Image
Sorry, Zeus! 😀❤️ (Zeus is my flatmate's cat).

Break Cover

Usually a day or two before an event, our agency briefs us about what is expected of us and our uniforms. For this particular event, I was only asked about it the day before. I presumed someone had dropped out at the last minute and I was available to cover.  The night before the event, our supervisor texted us a 23 page brief from the client. I was feeling overwhelmed after reading the first three pages. I asked God to help me understand the information. Our supervisor soon texted us a six page document with the main points from the client's brief. Although our supervisor's version was a lot simpler, it was still a lot of information to take in. I had a feeling I wouldn't even need all that information anyway as I was only doing break cover for one day. I decided to go to bed.  The next morning, I prayed for God to make my day at the event easy, fun and wonderful. At the event, everything made sense.  Visitors could download the company's app anyway, which had all the ...

Love Interests

Image
When I told my boss I was going to central London after work to take photos of these beautiful trees, he said, "That's very lovely." At first, I thought he was being polite. Then he said, "Are you a member of the Woodland Trust?" "Actually, I am," I said. "Me too," he said. ""I love trees. I am a tree hugger." "Me too, I think trees are wonderful." We then chatted for a few minutes about our mutual love of trees and our favourite parks. He also told me he has a huge elm in his back garden which is protected.  He then let me leave work an hour early to pursue my love interests. 😊❤️ These photos are of Berkeley Square in central London. Apparently they are called Plane trees and have been there since the 18th century.

God is Changeless and Timeless

Image
On this day in 2019, I explored Hampstead Heath and took some photos. One thing I love about woods and forests is how timeless and changeless they are. In a thousand year's time, this Heath will still look the same.  I believe the Heath represents God's eternal attributes. God is changeless and timeless.❤️ ----- Relevant Bible verses: “For I am the Lord, I do not change;" Malachi 3:6 "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Hebrews 13: 8

Army Veterans

Image
I bought this card from the museum shop I was working at. The volunteer I was working with actually painted the poppies on the card and the proceeds goes to the Hospital. He and his colleagues were recently featured on the front page of The Times. (See attached photo. He is right in front wearing shades). Thank you, God, for giving me the opportunity to meet and work with Army veterans. ❤️ Link of museum:  Interactive Exhibition | Royal Hospital Chelsea https://share.google/y2rpSdhS11guQ1kzY

Mary and Martha

Image
It is written in the Bible (Luke 10: 38-42) that Jesus went to visit Martha and Mary. Martha welcomed Jesus into her house. We are told while Martha was busy serving, Mary sat at Jesus's feet to listen to His teachings. 7 I can imagine Martha was busy preparing food and snacks for Jesus and His disciples.  Martha got resentful about her sister not helping her and said to Jesus:  “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” Luke 10: 40 Jesus answered:  “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things.  But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10: 41-42 In this story, Martha represents service and Mary our relationship with God. Jesus is pointing out that the one thing needed from us is being in His presence and feeding from Him.   I find there is a Martha spirit in the church. As soon as you join a church, you are encouraged to...

God Never Stops Loving Us

Image
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose." Romans 8: 28 ----- I planned to attend the "God Loves You London Tour" with the American evangelist, Franklin Graham. It was meant to start at 6pm. I was hoping to get there around 6pm. My boss even let me leave work early which gave me enough time to arrive on time. It was then the obstacles started. First, all the tube lines I could have travelled on had severe delays. I decided to catch the bus into central London and then catch a train to the venue.  Second obstacle - the bus I needed to get to the train station terminated early. Apparently, it was because of some demonstration in town. I tried another route. While I was waiting at the bus stop, I shared the bus timetable with another passenger. We ended up travelling on the bus together and had a nice chat. Before I got off, I asked her name. It turned out she and I had the same name...

Bus Timetable

Usually before I catch the bus, I look up the bus route online and check what time it will arrive at my local bus stop. I recently noticed the Internet search engine I use is no longer showing the live timetables for the buses. I wondered why.  I could call the bus company and ask them. I checked the travel app I normally use, but the times they were giving were approximate times. I decided to leave a few minutes earlier than the time stated on the travel app. When my bus arrived, I found an empty seat. The last passenger who got on told the driver there was smoke coming out of the back of the bus. After the driver checked, he moved the bus down a bit, parked it and asked everyone to get off. He said if he drove any further the bus might catch fire. While the driver was inspecting where the smoke was coming from, I asked him why their company had stopped showing live timetables. He asked me what app I was using and I told him I was using a search engine. He stopped what he was doin...

Trooping the Colour

Image
In my late teens I applied to join the British Army, but I failed the final interview.  I still love the Army and what they stand for. I now get to work with Army veterans and ask them lots of questions about their life in the Army. I missed watching "Trooping the Colour" aka the King's Birthday Parade on 14th June. I finally watched it yesterday on the BBC-iPlayer. For me, the Army represents discipline and obedience. I find it interesting how the officers follow the sergeant major's commands. He says "turn right" and they all turn right. I believe Jesus is the Commander in Chief that we, as Christians, follow. However, we don't always follow His commands.  I also believe each of us is a commander in our own right. Our minds and bodies are our officers, which we are meant to command. (Romans 12: 1-2) God bless the British Army. Thank you, Jesus, for being my Commander in Chief. ❤️ Ps: I also watched the military parade on YouTube honouring the American ...

Happy Father's Day

God is the only Father I have. I give thanks to Him for His everlasting love. ❤️

Agency Recommendations

While I was sitting on a bench at the park, this woman joined me. I said hello to her. She asked me if I was having a good day. After chatting about the weather, she told me she was waiting for some friends. I told her I was meeting a friend later. She then asked me what work I did. I told her I did different jobs including working at museums, theatres and art galleries. She told me she worked in banking. She also said she has always wanted to work at museums. I gave her the name of the agency I work for. I even gave her my name to let the agency know I introduced her. We were only together for about fifteen minutes, but we had a lovely chat. It's good to talk to strangers. God could very well be using the stranger sitting next to you to meet your heart's desire. And vice versa. God is good. God is love. God is wonderful. ❤️

Stray Cats

Image
While I was cooking, I left the back door open. One of the stray cats was back. He came as far the door and I glared at him. He then backed away and laid down and was looking really cute. I thought to myself, I reckon all cat mums must train their cats to look cute so they can seduce humans. I took his photo.   He then got up and gazed at me. I found myself reaching out for the dried food and putting some on the ground for him to eat. He had some, but didn't finish all of it. He then laid in front of the door and kept watching me. In the meantime Zeus, our resident cat, walked in. He sniffed at his bowl and decided he didn't want the food. He miaowed at me. I told him to finish his food. He ignored me and sat at the doorway. He didn't seem bothered by the stray cat. I reckon in his own way, Zeus was letting the stray cat know that this was his place and everything in this flat, including the humans, belong to him. Zeus walked away to lie in the sun. I then heard the stray c...

Wallpaper

The images I use as wallpaper on my phone and laptop are reminders of who I am in Christ. I download the image from Google and then add the equivalent text. Here are a few examples. Have fun creating your own. 😊❤️

Sweet Peppers

Image
The other day, my flatmate gave me a packet of sweet peppers which she got from work.  I've just made my version of Jollof rice with the sweet peppers and chicken Unfortunately,  I can't share my delicious dish with my flatmate as she doesn't like sweet peppers.  Thank you, God, for your constant provision. ❤️ Here's a photo of the dish.

Free Sandwich

"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us," Ephesians 3: 20 ---- A few days ago when I was wondering what to use as a filling for my sandwich to have at work, my flatmate offered me some salmon. When I went to work at this new event, the client actually provided sandwiches for all their staff so I didn't need to make a sandwich for work. I definitely wasn't expecting that at all. Thank you, God. ❤️

Popstar

At work, I was chatting to a colleague about this popstar I used to love when I was a lot younger. Later on my way home, I got on the train just as it was about to leave the platform. As soon as I got on, I heard these passengers discussing the same popstar I had been chatting about earlier. How amazing is that! God is wonderful! ❤️

Companions

Image
While I was walking to the train station, just after 5am, there wasn't a soul in sight. I did have my tree friends, birds chirping in the trees and a fox to keep me company. Of course in the invisible realm, God is always with me. Feeling really grateful. ❤️

Sandwich Filling

So I decided to make an egg mayonnaise and cheese sandwich for work on Wednesday.   As I had used up all the filling, I wondered what sandwich I would make for Thursday. Nevermind, I will decide the next day. Later, when my flatmate came home, she asked me if I fancied some salmon. I told her I had been thinking of what sandwich to make for work. I said the salmon will make a perfect flling for my sandwich. Thank you, God, for always meeting the need. ❤️

Not a Cat Lady

Image
When I heard noise in the kitchen, I came out to check. I noticed a stray cat running out of the kitchen and jumping out of the window. He was obviously eating Zeus' leftovers. Poor Zeus (my flatmate's cat) is so stressed about other male cats invading his territory. No wonder he's constantly fighting other cats. Having said that, Zeus also goes into other people's homes so it's tit for tat. 😀 As much as I love cats, I could never be a cat lady. By this I mean, I can only live with one cat at a time. I certainly don't want feral cats coming in and out of my home as they could have fleas.  I love lions too, but I wouldn't want to live with them, not in this reality anyway. 😀 🦁  Photo of me and Zeus taken a while back ❤️

After School Club

Years ago, I worked at this After School Club. The kids were aged between 3 and 5 years old. Part of my role was supervising the kids while they played outside. One time I noticed this little boy, aged around four, hogging the football. The other boys complained to me that he wasn't sharing the ball. I told the boy the ball belonged to the school which meant they all had to share and play together. The next day, I notced the same boy hogging the ball. I said to him, "Who does this ball belong to?" "The school, Miss," he said. "And?" "It means we have to share the ball, Miss." "Good boy!" The boy then threw the ball to the other boys and they had fun playing football. The very next day,  I noticed the same boy hogging the ball. I had to repeat the same conversation I had with him the previous day and kept repeating myself until he finally got it. When we become born again Christians by receiving Jesus as our personal Lord an...

One Mind

Two days ago, a work colleague told me she was thinking of going to Abbey Wood to explore the area. I made a mental note that I would like to do the same sometime. Early this morning,  I  looked up if it was possible to get to Abbey Wood by bus. The map told me it would take 2.5 hours by bus or 1.5 hours by tube. I then looked up which places I could visit there.  A few hours later, while I was working at this transport museum, these two boys came in with their mum. One of them told me excitedly that he was going to catch a bus to Abbey Wood. I said, "Really, how wonderful!" Wow, I wonder if that kid was reading my thoughts? 😳

Hiw God Provides Shade

Image
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." Psalm 23: 1 ---- Thank you, God, for giving us trees, which provide much needed shade in hot weather. Here are some trees that have provided shade from the heat. Some of them were next to the bus stop. I stood in the shade instead as the bus stop shelter was too hot. ❤️🌳
