Triangles

Image
While I was working at this museum, I noticed a look of wonder on this visitor's face. I asked her if she was enjoying the museum. She said she was overwhelmed by the art and the beauty of the house.  She also said she loved the old furnishings. I said it was like time travelling. She told mr she worked as an interior designer and has just finished designing this historical home. "Can I show you something?" the woman said. "Of course." She pulled out her phone and showed me a photo of a triangular table with three legs which was part of the decor of the historical home she  was working on. She said while she was browsing on the Web, the first photo that came up was a photo of another triangular table that costs thousands of Euros. It got me thinking about a photo I had taken two days before of an arrow on the bus lane, which looked like a person with a triangular head. (See photo attached) I then showed the visitor the photo I had taken of the "person"...

Elastic Bands

Image
From time to time, when the postman comes to deliver our letters and parcels, he drops elastic bands on the floor. Yesterday I had a need for an elastic band. On the way out, I looked outside our front door and in the corridor, but there was not one in sight. Today, while I was at home, I heard a knock on the front door. It was the postman delivering a parcel and some letters. I asked him if he had any spare elastic bands. He said he didn't have any on him, but he had some in his van. He asked me how many I needed. I said just one. He promised to come back and push it through the letter box. Five minutes later, I heard a knock on the front door. It was the postman again and his hands were filled with elastic bands.  Wow, thank you so much. God always meets our needs above and beyond. ❤️ ----- Relevant Bible verses: "The Lord is my Shepherd,  I shall not want." Sticking their Tongue Out

Image
While the bus I was on was waiting at this traffic light, I looked outside and noticed this person sticking out their tongue at someone. At least that's what the arrow on the bus lane looked like to me. Joy is everywhere. 😀

Influencers

Social media is full of influencers who influence their followers to believe what they believe, and to act and think just like them. The only influencer I follow is Jesus.  I believe in Him, follow His teachings and even worship Him as my God.  Jesus is so influential, He has given all His followers His mind. Those who believe in Jesus and have accepted Him as their Lord and Saviour have Him  living inside of them; and His attributes are being expressed in and through them. Thank you, Jesus, for being the greatest influencer of all time. ❤️ ---- Relevant Bible verses: "And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst."" John 6:35 "Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life."" John 8:12 "I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and...

Sharing God’s Love

When my shift  finished at this event I was working at, I went over to say goodbye to a colleague who was still working. He jokingly told me he hated me because I was leaving early. I gave him a big hug and wished him well.  On the way to catch my train, for a moment I felt this tug around my heart area as if someone was pulling energy from me. I then instantly felt fine.   I knew it was the love I had just given my friend, which was instantly replaced. Imagine what you would feel like if you are constantly giving out energy and you weren't being filled up. Just imagine. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for constantly filling me up with Your life. ❤️ ----- Relevant Bible verses: "It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing." John 6: 63 "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, bec...

Working with the Lord

In preparation for an event I was going to be working at, where they were expecting over 50,000 visitors, I thanked God in advance for His strength to keep me going and for making every day easy, fun and wonderful. I was inspired to meditate on the Bible verses where Jesus asks us to cast our cares and burdens on Him and He will give us His burden which is light. (See Bible verses below). It got me thinking that the things that limit us are matter, time and space. Where there is none of those, you are only left with light. Light is boundless, free and limitless. Is it any wonder why Jesus said His burden is light? As we had been warned that the area of the exhibition hall where I was going to be working would be chlly, I made sure I had layers on. While I was on my break, I met a friend who was also working at the event. When she held my hands, she told me they were freezing and said I must be cold. I told her I was fine. A few minutes later, I bumped into one of the managers. I s...

Love Lifts Me Up

After work, I stopped off at a store to do my weekly grocery shopping. I then caught the train home. At my stop, lots of people got off. As I was walking up the stairs with my bags of shopping, I lost my balance and tripped on the stairs and fell and I instinctively put my free  hand out to protect my face from hitting the step. Suddenly, I felt two arms lifting me up - one from a woman on my left and the other from a man on my right. Both of them asked me if I was okay. I said I was and thanked them.  The man said, "It's been a long week." I said "It's been a long day." On the way home, I  thanked God for working through the people who had lifted me up. As I kept thanking Him, the pain I had been feeling in my hand and knees melted away. By the time I arrived home, there was no physical evidence of my fall, there was only the memory of God's love. When I shared my experience with my flatmate, she said it's a shame we tend to focus on the bad things ...

The One

During my lunch break and on the way to the staff room, I saw a colleague.  The last time I saw her was probably a year ago when we worked at an event. Her:  You are looking so beautiful. Me: Thank you. So are you. I do have a new man in my life. Her: I knew there was something different about you,  you are glowing and you look so happy. Me: Actually, the man I'm talking about is Jesus. He's the One I've been looking for my entire life. I finally found Him. Her: I have Him in my life too. Me: Well, I don't mind sharing Him with you. Her:  He gives us love... Me: And peace and in Him is eternal joy. Her: Yes. After we finished our conversation, we gave each other warm hugs. Thank you, Jesus, for being the One. ❤️  ---- Relevant Bible verses:  "You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore." Persistence Pays

Image
Sometime last year, two stray cats started coming to us for food. One looked old and was very skinny. The other one looked young and his miaow was so loud and annoying I called him Loudmouth.  My flatmate reckoned they had been abandoned after their owners had moved away. I was thinking of calling an animal shelter to come and get them, but my flatmate advised against it. She said animal shelters are now so stretched (in terms of resources) that after they take the stray to the vet to have it microchipped and vaccinated, they return the stray to the person who reported it.  She  said she was once forced to look after several stray cats that the shelter couldn't accommodate.  I prayed for God to give both cats loving homes. When the stray cats kept coming, we fed them occasionally.  I didn't like Loudmouth as he would come through the window and eat Zeus' food and I would have to chase him out. The older cat always stayed outside. After a while, the older cat sto...

Random Question Answered

A week ago, while I was travelling on the Elizabeth Line, which goes via Heathrow Airport, I wondered if it stopped at all the terminals. On the train this morning, I sat in front of this couple. They were chatting about places they were going to in London. I asked them if they were on a day trip to London. They said they lived in a town outside of London and were going to meet their son who was taking them to some tourist attraction I'd never heard of.  They asked me if I was going to work and I said I was. I said after I get off the train, I was going to catch the Elizabeth line. I asked them if they had ever used that line. The man said as he has an office in Europe, he often travels on that line to Heathrow Airport to catch his flight.  I asked him if the Elizabeth line goes to all the terminals. He said no, you have to catch the tube to the other terminals. Before I got off, I wished my friends well. A week ago when I had that random thought, I could easily have looked up...

A Dog at the Church

As I'm off today, I decided to attend a service at a local church. There was someone there with a dog, a little terrier. That's the first time I've ever seen a dog in a church. It was very well behaved.   I notced the dog didn't go forward for communion. He probably would be whining if he was offered wine. 😊

About Identity

While I was browsing this news website on my phone, I noticed an article about this celebrity. The first few lines described him as a "mixed race, university drop-out, born into poverty." At that point, I lost interest and stopped reading. In the world, your identity is based on what you look like, your cultural heritage, your circumstance and your worldly achievements. How the world sees me is not my identity, my identity is based on my relationship with Christ as follows: I am a child of God. I am a citizen of the Kingdom of God. I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I am complete in Christ. I am the light of the world. I am an ambassador of Christ. I decided to attend a local church near home, which  I've only been to once before. The sermon was about how our identity changes when we accept Christ as our Lord and Saviour.  After the service, I spoke to the lay-preacher and told her I had been thinking of my identity in Christ. She said she was glad God was confirmin...

About Following Instructions

When the cursor got stuck on my laptop screen, I had no choice but to keep pressing the on/off button until the laptop was switched off. When I switched it back on, the screen didn't come back on. After switching it off and on several times and nothing happened, I asked God to sort out the issue. I switched it off, left it alone for a while and switched it back on. Still nothing. I decided to look up on the Internet to see if anyone has had the same issue. Someone suggested to keep pressing the on button for about 15 seconds.  After pressing the button for about 5 seconds, the laptop came back to life. It got me thinking:  If I can believe and follow instructions on the Internet from fallible humans, I can easily believe and follow God's instructions in the Bible, which are infallible and unchanging. Thank you, God, for giving us Your Word. ❤️ ----- Relevant Bible verses: “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He n...

About Star Trek

Image
I've been a huge fan of Star Trek, which I've been watching since I was a kid. We are both celebrating our 60th year this year. As I see it, Star Trek represents accepting differences including race, politics, religion, cultures, philosophies, which is a noble view.  Some of the humanoids in the series even have interspecies relationships like a Ferengi falling in love with a  Cardassian. (See photo below). In the real world, my real world, I have friends who have different viewpoints and I accept their points of views.  However, when it comes to my inner circle, I prefer to fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ i.e have a relationship with Christ and be God-centred.   When it comes to relationships, in the past I have dated men based on race, cultural values or shared interests, but they haven't worked out because the spiritual core was always missing. It was like dating someone from a different dimension and the other was always trying to pull me into...

Fancy Some Chips?

At the bus stop, I noticed five boys in school uniform. They looked around 11 or 12 years old. I reckon they'd just finished school for the day. One boy came over to me and said, "Madam, would you like some chips?" "No, thank you," I said. He probably had bought some chicken and chips and he couldn't finish the chips. The boy went back to hang out with his friends. He looked like he was offering his friends his chips, but there were no takers. After a while, my friend approached the bin near me. Just before he threw the chips in the bin, he looked at me and said, "Are you sure you don't want any?" "No, thank you. You're very kind." No kid has ever offered me their leftover chips before. How sweet! ❤️

About Respect

Image
There are so many videos on social media of cats knocking things like glass off tables, you would think they do so because it's their nature. Some people even find these videos funny. I don't.  I have observed cats are very curious creatures, but they have to be trained not to be destructive. Zeus, my flatmate's cat, likes jumping on the kitchen counters and tables, but he has been trained not to knock things over.   After Zeus jumped on to the table, he went to sniff the flowers in the vase, but did nothing further. When our pets are trained to respect our stuff, they will respect them. ❤️ ---- Relevant Bible verse: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6 Photo of Zeus sitting near the vase

Easy Shift, Early Finish

After I booked a late shift finishing at 12 midnight and an early shift the next day, I was beginning to regret my decision. I decided to trust in God to work things out. Before I went to do my evening shift, I prayed that it would be an easy shift.  I was not only put in an easy position, the whole evening went so smoothly the event finished earlier than planned. Usually, some clients like to stick around to chat, but they didn't even hang around. The event manager let us leave early. On the taxi home, I had an interesting chat with this young man about the pros and cons of driverless cars. He was understandably against it and I was on the fence. 😀 I arrived home around 12.15am, which meant I was asleep by 1am. The next morning when I woke up, I was feeling tired. I said to myself  "none of me, all of You, God."  (Inspired by John 3: 30) I was instantly fully awake and full of energy. My flatmate's cat, Zeus, jumped on my bed and demanded cuddles, which I was happy ...

Dissolving Muscle Cramps

While I was lying in bed, I suddenly felt muscle cramp in one  calf causing intense pain. I got out of bed, stood up and declared "Jesus is Lord." The pain was instantly dissolved. Thank you, Jesus! ❤️  --- Relevant Bible verses: "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth," Philippians 2:5-10

Love is Light

As I'm working in the evening today, I was really looking forward to having a long lie-in. I woke up at 6am to use the loo.  On the way back to my bedroom, I saw Zeus (my flatmate's cat) sneaking into my bedroom. He loves having cuddles from me before going out on his cat business.  There goes my lie-in! After a while, Zeus insisted on lying on top of me, on my side. I reminded myself that Zeus is full of love. He felt as light as a feather. After a while, Zeus decided he'd had enough and wanted to go out, so I had to get up and let him out. Thank you, God, for showing me that love is light.❤️ ----- Relevant Bible verse: "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he." Proverbs 23: 7

Jesus is Lord

Image
After watching a long podcast about this priest who is an exorcist, I closed my eyes and started drifting off to sleep. Suddenly, I heard the words, "Jesus is Lord" in my thoughts and was now wide awake.  I knew it was the Holy Spirit speaking to me because, according to the Bible, only He reveals Jesus is Lord. "Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit." 1 Corinthians 12: 3 Jesus is Lord. Thank you, Lord! ❤️  This is the podcast I was watching. https://youtu.be/0svd0YPi-9I?si=CmiUnIWH6GHv1Awb

Takig Time Off Work

Months ago, I booked the first week in January off as paid leave.  That was definitely an inspired decision as it's been extremely cold this week by UK standards. I am doing what I love - Bible study, reading, watching podcasts and videos. I expect it to be milder by the time I go back to work. Thank you, God! ❤️

Love Never Changes

Image
Today, I met up with a dear friend at this pub. The last time I went to that pub was in the late 1980s.  It's been refurbished since then. I can't even remember what the original interior looks like. Things change, but love never changes.  Thank you, Lord, for good friends.❤️

A First for Everything

Image
In my almost 60 years, this is the first time I'm working on the 1st of January. There's always a first for everything. 😀 Enjoy the first day of the year, whatever you get up to. 🙏 Photo of me all alone at the train station. However, as the Lord is always with me, I am NEVER alone. ❤️
