The Two Timelines

I'm a huge fan of the American Sci-fi, Star Trek. I love episodes that  deal with timelines. In fact, the new Star Trek films are set in the Kelvin timeline, an alternative universe to the original Star Trek series.

As a Christian, I believe there are two timelines: one where you experience God's manifest presence and the other one where you don't.

Here are two examples.

When I arrived at the tube station, the platform for the trains travelling westbound into central Londn was packed full. Considering it was almost 9.30 am, I was expecting it to be empty. I was inspired to go the opposite platform and catch the train eastbound to the previous stop and then catch the next train back.

Another passenger had the same idea. While we were on the train, she told me she was already late for work. I told her I had more than enough time. We got off at the next stop and went to the opposite platform to catch the westbound train. The next train that arrived was full and didn't have any seats so I had to stand. When we arrived at the next stop, the platform that was  crowded five minutes earlier was now empty. It was like we had travelled down a different timeline that was calm and peaceful. The bonus was a passenger got out and I managed to get a seat.

The next day I got on the bus around the time schools finished. When we arrived at this particular bus stop, lots of kids came on and headed upstairs where I was sitting.  I reminded myself that God's presence fills the entire bus. Although the kids were screeching, in my reality, I was in perfect peace.

I live, move and have my being in the timeline where Jesus is. ❤️
