About Discernment

"For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ." 1 Corinthians 2: 16

----

If you have a thought and the thought manifests instantly, how do you know whether it is God’s plan for you?

Here's are two examples.

Two month ago, while I was going through some old emails, I noticed an email from a journalist I worked with many years ago.  The very next day, she sent me a copy of an article. After reading it and giving my opinioin, she asked me if I was willing to be interviewed for an article she had in mind. At first, I liked the idea and agreed to do it.  She told me she was going to pitch the idea to two magazines she has worked with. After a few days, she told me they still hadn't got back to her. In the meantime, I was feeling really uncomfortable about getting involved in that project. I finally  told the journalist that I needed to withdraw as the article conflicted with my values. She said that might be why her pitch wasn't accepted by those magazines. I agreed with her.

The other day while I was out with a friend, I talked to him about when I used to work as an SEN teaching assistantship at primary schools. (SEN = Special Educational Needs). The very next day, I received an email from a teaching agency I worked with two years ago, asking if
I was interested in an SEN teaching assistant role at a school near me.  I didn't  bother to respond to the email.

All Christians, have the Holy Spirit who gives us  iscernment. That's why I knew I couldn't work with the journalist or pursue the teaching assistant role.

Thank you, God, for giving me Your gift of wisdom. ❤️

"For as he thinks in his heart, so is he." Proverbs 23: 7

"There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works [e]all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills." 1 Corinthians 12: 4-11
